Hi Guys,

Wonder if anyone can help, my ado a16 has just developed a problem - the throttle doesnt work when twisting anymore, display has thrown up what looks like an error code "E 08"
The two assist levels still work when i pedal upto the threshold speed.

I did clean the bike yesterday, mainly the chain and cassette, was careful not to spray water everywhere. Rode it this morning for around 15mins to work, everything worked fine, and then locked it up in the work car park for the day. Had the bike around 3months now from new.

thanks

edit, apologies, i just realised there's a 'technical' subforum, if it needs moving please can someone help. thanks again

theres a guy on youtube called techtronic9000 That seems to know a lot about the ado computers ie unlocking speeds (adjusting settings) . He does seem to reply to comments so could be worth direct messaging him about the error code.

s866s e08 is a throttle issue or the code denotes that is where the issue lies.
One needs to faut check the throttle hall to see if the issue is the hall.
If you have block connectors simply poke your meter probes up the back of the wire connector block to contact the back of the metal pin, Gnd likely Black to 5v likely Red or Brown one should get 4v - 5v reading, Gnd to the signal wire (third colour) one should see approx. 1v when the throttle is applied. If the V's are out of this range then one can suspect the hall.

The main problem though with any peripheral item like PAS, throttle etc is they all pick up the 5v from a common rail in the pcb, so the fault could lie any where and more so if one has sprayed water around. Water affecting the 5v can be any where on the bike where there is a connection point and cause a short /issue any where.

With any ebike one should keep cleaning with hose pipes and the general spraying /soaking with water away from them all together. A moistened rag is better to wipe said bike with.
