Hi

I have a Brompton with Tongxin hub/controller and throttle control. A family member has difficulty with the throttle due to hand tremor. I would like to change the electrics so that it is pure pedelec without the need for a throttle. Is there any way I can do this with the existing Tongxin controller? If not does any one know of a controller available that will accept a pedal sensor that is usable with the Tongxin sensorless hub motor?

Regards

Yep try one of these

36V 350W brushless controller for E - bike & scooter | eBay

You will need to either get them to progam it for max 12amps or do it yourself. I think they sell it with a pedelec disk and sensor if you ask, $3 extra. Also do not forget to mark in your payment to say you want it SENSORLESS as well, assuming your motor is sensorless which I suspect it is.

Alternatively if you can wait a bit till I finish painting this room lol then I will check my box of bits as I think I have a few original Tongxin controllers which have pedelec and I will send you one for the cost of postage and if I can find it a pedelec disk and sensor too :)

PS with pedelec control you will need a cutout brake to prevent overun as well. I may have a spare one of them too.

Many thanks Jerry

If you do have a controller with pedelec disk and sensor I would be interested. The Tongxin is sensorless. I already have cut outs on the brakes.

Ian,

I do have a Tongxin controller with both pedelec and throttle function which I will happily send you. I don't have a spare pedelec sensor and disk though :(

If you want it just PM me your address and I will pop it in the post next week :)
