Hi all, recently purchased this bike online and i did not realise it was just a pedal asisted only, it has a rear battery pack with a controller built into the housing with a
36V250W 8FUN SWXH rear motor
PLG CONTROLLER - CV01 V1.3 PRINTED ON THE BOARD.

I've taken apart the controller but cant find any extra plugs to add a throttle, is there a wire i can patch into add the throttle ?

Some photos of the contoller would help. Spread out the connectors so that we can see them all. Don't waste ours and your time showing us an aluminium box with a label on it.

That's not a standard Chinese controller. I guess the throttle would go on one of the spare pins on the multipin connector. Are there any markings on the back?

It might be easier to chuck the controller and display and buy an unrestricted one with a throttle. You could upgrade to a LCD and 5 levels of assist if you got a S06S (sensored motors) or S06P (sensorless) from BMSBattery.

Could do with finding the 16 pin out for that connector, not having much luck on google this is a pic of the chip. Will try an trace all the wires to the connector.theioports_1248286407.png.jpg

I don't think it would help because the chip might not be programmed for a throtle. It'll be easier to get a new controller.

The individual controllers don't normally have that connector. Instead, they have three bullet connectors and a 6-way block for the hall sensors. BMSB sell a separate motor cable that has the right connector. It has empty wires on the controller end, so you have to solder it to the wires coming out the controller or solder it directly to the controller's pcb.

Alternatively, you can use the connector and wire from your existing controller.

A good controller is the S06S sold by BMSBattery. You have to also order the LCD, a wheel speed sensor, throttle and PAS.
