How heavy is it if you take the battery out? If it's still too much does the motor come off easily?

i have been using a saris beam for my 706 alpino. this attaches to saris bones rack.
i remove battery but weight will still be over 20kg.........not had any problems with this set up. journey times usually under an hour each way.
maybe worth checking with sellers re weight limit for the bar......i did ask about weight limit for rack and bought '2 bike' version to be on safe side.

The Thule carrier we use (clamps onto a towball) has very adaptable securing arms that hold a couple of Dutch bikes safely.

my car does not have a towbar facility so going to use the other style that you strap on to rear of car. Tow bar does seem the way to go with heavy bike, lifting it up is a challenge for me, regards Ger
