Abus one key in UK?

I would like to use the same key for my bike and an Abus bike lock - anyone know the best way to get an abus lock manufactured and delivered to UK, given the key code?

Is this a start the bike key or battery retention lock???
Using the same key for both is the solution, whats the problem or niggle that prompted this train of thought??

Do the two locks even share the same core format ? - A local locksmith should be able to point you in the right direction or rule out feasibility.

Assuming keyring mass/clutter is a driving force here, personally if the battery retention lock i would simply keep the battery key with the charger (no longer on the keyring), and if the bike start up key, simply replace the key start with a non key option, (magnet + hydraulic brake sensor, or perhaps a rfid tag for starters).

No. The Bosch motor has an Abus key, and Abus can provide their locks manufactured for your (registered) key code. I just have not been able so far to find a supplier in UK who will get this done for me, and Abus does not deal directly with customers.

Have you tried a locksmith? one should definitely have trade connections to Abus or know how to establish them.

No I have not. I am looking to buy an Abus lock, manufactured to match my existing Abus key (for the Bosch motor), not to get a key.

This is something they offer - takes about a week I understand - but I need a supplier to organize it.

I suppose a locksmith might have the connections. I might try that if simpler solutions do not turn up, or simply give up. It would be convenient, but not that important.

Armed with info from 20yr old village pub lockin conversations with a locksmith, and viewing a few lockpicking you tubes as my sources..

If the keys are the same shape/size then the lock cores should be the same dimension too.

a new core for your lock matching the same codes as your bike may need a locksmiths professional credentials to buy
Bosch may have negotiated a walk around as an option to its registered resellers??
Check you tube for your abus lock and picking / core removal vids..

I have found www.ebike24.com can supply them to UK, though it says to expect 4 weeks delivery and the Bordo 6500KA I was looking at is around £50 dearer than the cheapest (same day delivery) local purchase (without key matching).
