Just wanted to share a picture of part of my twice weekly commute from Bookham to Woking on my Forza. It certainly more relaxing and enjoyable then the alternative car journey.

The Forza, which I picked for a £100 on Ebay, continues to perform very well. The retrofit Phylion vertical battery (again Ebay £130 with charger) is superb. I used the bottom bit of the ezee battery to turn the Phylion lugs connectors 90 degrees to fit. Also added a bottle battery connector to take the bottle battery on the back rack for longer rides.

Just very happy with the nice weather...

Have a great weekend evryone...

IO think other people would be interested in how you converted the battery (me included). Any chance of some photps?

will send some pictures this weekend - on another topic does anyone have clipless pedals fitted on their bikes - if so do you think there are any power or efficiency gains....

Of course you can pedal harder with them, but then you have to face the ignominy of falling off every time you have to do an emergency stop when a pedestrian or their dog jumps out on you. Great for race-tracks and trikes. No good for cycle paths.

Once you are used to them you get a performance benefit. And the bike is slightly less nick able . No issues un clipping either

I've put spd clipless pedals on mine and the benefits are being able to pedal upwards too for more power and the cycling does feel more solid but as d8veh says there is the falling off bit which I have a few times and still have a sore shoulder from one fall so maybe not good for cycle paths or lots of stop/starts in traffic. I have just ordered some multi directional release cleats to try and make it easier to unclip quicker.

Clipless are great for longer commutes. But practice lots before using for real. It sounds silly but it is worth leaning your bike against a wall and watch TV for a couple of hours while you clip and unclip until you have the hang of it.
If using SPDs I'd also recommend the multi angle release variants to start with, and turn the tension all the way down until you are used to them.

Removed the base from the old Ezee battery after cutting wires.
Ezee Battery.JPG

Soldered two cut down male lugs to wires from the base (no picture)

Fitted positive and negative male lugs to Phylion battery. Double check no shorts.

Check position in bike battery holder with trial fitting of battery. Double check polarity is correct. Switch on briefly to check for green battery light.

Then remove battery from holder. Superglue and tape base to Phylion battery

Base taped and glued to battery..JPG

The height of the battery is slightly taller.

I covered the silver PH battery with black tape to disguise it a little bit.

Plenty of room below the big bum seat. Two keys required.

Non electric Trek fitness hybrid bike which I may convert.
