I read on the internet about a new folding eZee model, the Cando, which has six gears but a smaller battery, 24 v 10 ah (am not certain about this) than its cousin (?) the eZee Quando II. I'd like to hear from the eZee folks about how this bike compares to the Q and the Quando II. Anyone else out there who can provide information?

There was no eZee model called the Cando, only the Quando. The Can Do is another bike sold through a Dutch company. Quite a fun little folder, pedelec only. We now do the IZIP Via Mezza Enlightened which is has a bigger battery, disc brake and more gears. It's more similar to the Quando in terms of its battery, mode of operation and performance, but is a lot lighter and sports 7 gears rather than the Quando's single gear.

Exactly as Tim says and my PM reply previously affirmed Bersh. Tim's recommendation of the Mezza also the same as mine for your purposes.

Thanks

Well so much for the internet and spreading confusing misinformation. I did find some info. on the Via Enlightened bike and it does seem very promising. However, when I sent an email to Meyers the selling company (somehow related to Currie), asking about warranties, no response as of yet.

Of course, the problem of service in California is there, but I need a replacement for my stolen Quando II. The solution is for someone who has a Q to sell it to me and deliver to San Francisco, where I can demonstrate how well it works on real hills.

Didn't that kind of customer service come with the treaty of independence you Brits gave in 1776?

I believe that the customer service warranty attached to that treaty is still in effect!:)

I heard on here a while back that Wai Won Ching, the owner of Ezee Bikes is trying to raise awareness of them in the USA.

Also I found this. I have no idea if these dealers are any good, or if they are hundreds of miles away, having spent the bulk of my life in the UK I tend to underestimate distances in the USA..

He has long had the two leading e-bike outlets as agents Alex, Nycewheels in New York and Electric Vehicles NW in Seattle and Oceanside, California, and Wai Won has a high regard for them. Such has been the very poor coverage for e-bike in the USA, these two have long been the only specialist e-bike outlets for the whole of the USA. The entire central area of the country including such major centres as Detroit have had to buy from over a thousand miles away, and the same has applied to the south eastern areas such as Florida and Miami.

Therefore it's good to see a new dealer entrant in Los Angeles where there are already some e-bikers. It'll be years at least before they reach our dealer coverage standards though, and much longer to match countries like the Netherlands, and somehow I don't think they ever will, the culture being so different there.

eZee agent Electric Vehicles NW have their California branch at Oceanside and can offer full service. They may be able to obtain and supply the Izip Mezza for you instead, if you preferred that, and carry out subsequent servicing.

I think the Boston Tea Party breached the terms of the treaty. :)
