A fortnight ago, on my homeward commute from Woking, the Forzas front drive wheel was squashed and bent by a lady driver coming out from a private drive. She said she simply did not see me and was very apologetic. It was a very slow speed encounter the car was not even damaged - I could have exchanged details and made a claim but decided not to. The bike was still rideable so it was quite a slow 13 mile ride home with the wheel wobbling and uncontrollable at anything above 7 mph.
I thought about attempting a repair myself - spoke to NealH and John at Cycezee - John said don't waste your time send it to Graham Tiller - I am very glad I did. The repaired (actually replaced) wheel arrived back in less then 4 days and what a great job was done - straight and true.......but what this story is leading to may be of interest to all you technical afficionados...(I do not count myself in that league)

After refitting the wheel I feel there is more power and a much better repsonse from a standing start - how could this be? A bit of research on the internet led me to this site - http://www.etotheipiplusone.net/?p=2387.
Could it be that the power wires bullet plugs had a bad connection and upon refitting remade a proper connection? Could the Hall sensors have had a similar bad connection that was fixed on reconnection? Or could I have unknowingly 'recalibrated' the Hall sensors by not having them connected on the first power up and then connecting them on the second power up as suggested in the above article.
Whatever the reason for the seemingly rejuvenated motor I am delighted by the outcome and have learnt something new - that there are as many controller variations from China as there are controllers available and they may all be slightly different.

Happy cycling.......
