8fun - LED handlebar bypass for testing purposes ?

Hi All,

I shall be helping a forum member troubleshoot issues on his bike on Friday. I’ve been running though the possible issues in my head and ways to test.

The problems he has had are reminiscent of my own with the 8fun kit – the fault turned out to be the LED handlebar panel. However, as I no longer have this LED panel, I cannot simply swap his with mine to test. I do have a spare controller though even though he has already changed this once.

Of course I’ll do all the usual power tests, starting with the battery/charger and working from there. However, if I need to, can I hot wire the LED panel connectors at the controller to rule in or out a panel issue? This panel has both an On/Off switch and a toggle switch between PAS and throttle only. There is a picture of it here

you only need to turn on the 14V feed on the controller side to get the rest going, usually red to blue on the 5-pin connector to the LED/LCD panel.
