My Arkose gravel bike came with TCS/TL ready rims but not TCS tyres :(, however chappie at store reckoned they should work.
This p.m I gave the front a go and after 3 or 4 tries the tyre is on tubeless, had an issue with not getting enough air in, valve not sealing and rim not sealing properly even though it went in nicely with a good loud echoed pop. Also found air was escaping via the rim join but after pulling tyre and applying sealant to the area it appears to have cured it.
The valve despite tightening still leaked so i placed another bit of tape over it to seal and used a spoke to pop a hole thru.
For the rim I found a rub of the sealant along the inside edge helped in the end with the tyre sealing as evident on the final pressurising with a nice equal bead of sealant on the exterior.
Obviously the idea is to run lower psi and no tube pinches, however is the tyre likely to burp ?
Tbh only time will tell so spare tube will still be carried.

I got a large roll of tape (50m) off ebay for about £9, UK made TESA tape 25mm yellow.
Valves I used WTB's presta 50mm.
For sealant I am trying GOOP green gung with bits in it, main reason being that it's eviro friendly.
To get enough air in I used an Airshot pressurised to 140psi via my track pump.

Back wheel to do next and will use caffelatex to see how it goes as Ii have some left from my failed mtb attempt.

Looks as if my effort has worked as this morning tyre still inflated after standing all night.
A couple times yesterday tyre deflated within an hour or so.

Tyre still up so works.
Did the rear early evening using Caffelatex, after modifying installation and learning from yesterday I had no issues with this attempt and all went ticketyboo.
Front has GOOP sealant so can see how both compare and if any one is better or not.

I still think we are a bit backwards in tubless technology for bikes
It shouldn't be that hard and most of the trouble is down to rubbish manufacturing of tyres in my opinion as most leaks are bead related
Well mine are anyway and i also i hate the slime
Glad your having success thou

I wasn't expecting much success as I was using the supplied standard non TL clinchers with a TL rim, the first one needed a few goes however then I primed the rim and bead and it did the job.
Rear one went first time after priming.

TL's have a better bead so probably may have got away without priming, when they are due for replacing I will get TL versions.

Previously I tried my mtb with non TL rims and tyres and it was hopeless, even a ghetto set up wouldn't work so I gave up on mtb.

You have lost me, what is a TL rim?
Tubeless ready rim, easier to set up them conventional rims.
Various differing trademark names but all do the same thing and should be interchangeable.
My new bike has WTB rims/tyres, they call them TCS (Tubeless compatible system).
