Years ago I bought a Cyclematic 24v. BikeIt had a Downtube battery. I installed a 36v Battery with integrated controller. It was too big for the Downtube so placeed it elswhare. This battery is coming to the end of it's life . My wife has a Freego bike & 2 36 v. Downtube Batteries, so was thinking of using one of them. I will need a new 36v controller. Is there a specific type that fits this sort of Battery? It's been so long I have forgotten how it all fits together.
My old one has a Throttle control and I would be lost without it.

The downtube is the tube that runs fro the front of the bike to the pedals, do you mean the seat tube? The Cyclamatics that had downtube batteries were 36v, not 24v.

All these type of batteries are compatible with each other and with all standard Chinese controllers. They just have two wires. Obviously, you have to find a way to install and connect them.

Always confirm the polarity with a meter before connecting a different battery.
