My bike has suffered periodic power failure which sometimes resolves itself 'in-flight' and at other times needs the battery lock turned on/off a few times before power is restored. Yesterday I could get no power and no green lights on the battery so I removed the battery and tested the voltage (approx 40v) at the base of the battery. After much manipulation of the lock I eventually got it to to register 4 green lights so I'm pretty sure the lock is faulty!
Can someone provide me with guidance on how to replace the battery lock. Is it just a case of taking out the screws holding the battery casing together to reveal the lock. Are any special tools needed? My research shows the going price for a replacement lock is £50. Is that about right?
