Today my wife and I had a nice ride, stopping for coffee. I really appreciate the countryside while on my Kalkhoff. Despite the heat my bike went well. I only have the 11amp battery but it does twice the milage I need. I just pump the tyres and lube the chain (GT85) and go. Get out there its fun.

How many motors did you get through during the ride?

Which bike do you have? If I am not mistaken, 50 Cycles don't sell many bikes anymore with a 11Ah (even the Pro Connect 9 "entry model" has a 15Ah battery now), and you seem to be a fairly new "customer".

Good to also see that the bike was able to sustain the extreme UK summer heat, for 20 miles. Kalkhoff buyers in Spain, in the USA or in Dubai will be reassured.

Anyway, enjoy your rides, and let's hope you don't get lost.

How is that "friends of Kalkhoff" website going? When is the launch day?

Hi another 13.5 mile ride today, cycling really makes one enjoy the country side. Someone here must be pleased for me? I was speaking to an engineer last night about the few Kalkhoff problems, he said that the motor unit would not take knocks like hitting motor on a high kerb or even just going up or down high kerbs. What do you think as I go careful but not slow with no problems. Just trying to be helpful. My web site will not be avertised on here as you will only go on there and spoil it. Sorry.

You can PMSL but I am riding everyday on my bike, just want a few of you to do the same, if only to stop you moaning and being nasty.

tbh i dont think these things were put together right in the first place as since i now check them now and then have not had any problem bar loosing 1 bolt that i never checked.

since them cable ties have been there they have not moved at all :) i changed the ses bearing today and runs like new now.

also removed that stupid chain guide as all it did was collect crud and dump it on my chain and the bearing i changed was rammed full of dirt and was so far gone was causing the bike to skip gears :)

It's a Haibike, the noise will be the rear suspension falling apart. ;)
Hi Ed, just for the record as you never seem to miss the opportunity to have a dig at Haibike, I have done 2500 miles in the past 12 months mainly off road and in challenging conditions on my Haibike and after a touch of blue loctite everything has been excellent and with 100 relibility. I am absolutely delighted with my bike and it has done everything I could possibly expect an e-bike to do for me. I would have no reservations in recommending the brand to anybody looking for an e-mtb. Izzy.

mine never had lock tight on them, in fact there was none used on the hole bike not even the rotor bolts lol.

and my bike was from ebike shop 2nd hand just shows you even he dont sort the bikes b4 there sold.

if ur going to charge 30 quid for 1 bolt best make sure they will fall out :)

You were talking to an engineer who happened to be familiar with the Kalkhoff motor design and weaknesses, on a Saturday evening?

So you were at your local pub talking about electric bike issues, and a guy overheard you and said: I am a Kalkhoff engineer (with a thick German accent)?

What was his name?

He confirmed that the bike can't take vertical shocks of a few centimeters?

Shame that your website won't be advertised by you, and therefore will never found by anyone. Kinda defeat the point of a website.
