Hi all! I’m Ashley and I currently have a Fiido D3 Pro and yes the customer service is attrocious which is why I can’t buy the Fiido C11 Pro even though it was tempting me for awhile.

The current Fiido D3 Pro is great! But I’m looking for something with more range and removable battery as I need to charge just the battery in the work place if I can.

My budget is £1-1.7k as I’m going to use the cycle to work scheme. Is the scheme worth it?

Alao I need the bike to clear 28km everyday, it’s for my daily commute to work.

thanks!

Dear Raboa,

Thanks for the recommendation, do you have any that has batteries that are integrated into the stem?

And why do you recommend the santana?
What do you mean by the "stem". The stem is the bit that holds the handlebars onto the steerer.

Easy controls
The Santana3 has throttle control and pedal assist.
To turn on the electrics, press the on/off button on the LCD display.
There are 5 level of assistance, 1 provides the least assistance, 5 the highest.
Press the up (+) and down (-) button to select the desired level.
The 7-speed gear change is by your right thumb.
When you start pedalling, the motor will kick in and supply about 80% of the energy.
If you don't want to pedal, turn on the throttle and twist down.
The bike will woosh you along nicely.
Please note that throttle is inactive until after you pedal a little to comply with the law since 2016.
Also, while using the throttle, you will need pedal a little, even without any effort, now and then just to keep the throttle active.
The bike is also very pleasant to pedal with no power.
Maximum speed is 15mph and computer controlled. hmmm thats not much different to mine but mines classed as illegal https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/more-seizures.48053/post-738770

The difference is that the Woosh one needs you to pedal before the throttle can be activated, and, IIRC, it'll cut off after a some time unless you pedal again.

generally its best to avoid batteries built into the bike as it usually involves a unique form factor limiting spare/replacement battery options to the single oem source, some take advantage of this to charge a premium price way above the price of a generic pack using top quality cells etc.

Woosh and wisper have both demonstrated through posts in here helping to keep older bikes in 2nd or 3rd hands in top nick and on the rd, that their bikes are meant to last.

ignorant old bloke comment - santana is a LADIES bike ;) aka a step through.. And well spec'd and on sale atm.

Thank you for the explanation! I saw a few Wisper bikes that I was really interested in because the battery is in build to the bar thing?
But it is quite much pricier.

What about ebikes from decathlon or GoOutdoors? Their prices are decent but I haven’t seen any good reviews on them.

Lastly, I guess the Santana3 looks great on their specs sheet but do they come in other colours? As vain as this sounds I did nearly choose a bike because of its colour in Decathlon!

@Woosh should be able to fill you in on colour options..

post links to specific bikes that catch your eye for a critical once over. you may find a bargain -they do occur
if you go ott we will let u know..

Check out the bargains thread for whats been found and whats currently available too.. (varied bunch)

While Built in bikes can be most problematic if spares/repairs are required afaik wisper and woosh built in bikes do have spares backup etc.. and im not aware of reports of excessive pricing?? tho the custom battery packs do carry an expected premium.

Hey everyone, thanks for your help!

David has set me up with a really good bike. I’ll be taking pics and everything. Can’t recommend Wisper enough. Brilliant man who was very caring and kind and explained everything very clearly!

I got the GPS and insurance package tacked on as well because I’m so worried it’ll get stolen seeing how amazing it is!!

I got one of the step through ones and it’s blue and super cute.

Hi Ash, I've just advertised my wife's old bike for sale in the classifieds on here. It's a Merida cyclocross with a Cytronex conversion - removable battery. Best bit is I'm only after £800 for it.
