Is a velomobile with a bafang BBS an EAPC? In doubt I published this here. This is exactly the type of vehicle and journey I would hope to attain within the next couple of years (after a boat build in 2017).

An American kit for the Catrike Expedition has caught my eye, especially it's price of $1100 for the body. Add a brand new trike and you have a velomobile for less than $5000! http://fvsilverbullet.com/trike_products.htm

It's my idea of an electric assist bike, fast comfortable mile eating roadster.
I like and the cost can come down with a little effort.

For the moment they have the one mold and are laying up the CF by hand one body at a time. Can't see any cost savings to come there before the manufacturing process is improved. The $1100 is for the body which will fit many trikes. The under-body and fittings, wheel wells, tail and headrest/tail are extra because trike model specific.

You can save by buying a second hand Catrike Expedition I suppose. Where else are you going to bring the price down? A bulk buy of kits to save on shipping maybe?

I think that step by step I will go down this road, first buy the trike and motorise it then save up for the body bits for example. I will have to find a cheap garage too...

If it complies in respect of 250 watts, pedelec power control and 25 kph assist limit, yes it's an EAPC (UK) and EPAC (EU).

This looks promising to create a lower price velomobile.
