    Hi from Fleet, Hampshire

Yes the bike purchase comes with 30 days of free insurance by Laka. So after that expires I'll either go with them or find a better option. I contacted Joe and the Juice cafe in Guildford as I'd quite like to plan a cycling trip there and they are ok with me wheeling the bike into the...

Thanks Peter. How are you measuring incline?

Bridge Lane. Incline of 4.64 I think.

    Hi from Fleet, Hampshire

I was skeptical about the 2 speed gears but having "test ridden" it, I feel it will suit my needs fine. I rode the bike on the roads near the shop and there was a mix of flat with some gentle inclines and finally, a hill steeper than any of the ones near me. The bike navigated them all with...

    Hi from Fleet, Hampshire

a Haibike Trekking 3 which was good but a bit bulky. I tried a Estarli 20.8 folder which felt a bit small and cramped after the 28.X. My non-electric Brompton is still my favourite folding bike. The 28.X is probably closest to my Specialized in terms of size. The tyres are wider but the bike...

    Hi from Fleet, Hampshire

I test rode some bikes yesterday and this was the standout bike. I have submitted a "cycle to work scheme" for it. https://www.thecyclecompany.co.uk/products/estarli-e28-x-lightweight-hybrid-electric-bike?srsltid=AfmBOor8wzwJlxZnL4fEgUCRCG5X_kc_EgWEpCo76tDCRCylrUln1GSb Thank you to everyone...

    Hi from Fleet, Hampshire

Thanks Roger The Estarli folder is not the only option I'm considering, they also do an Estarli 28 inch wheel bike available in the same store. https://www.thecyclecompany.co.uk/collections/all-products/products/estarli-e28-9-lightweight-hybrid-electric-bike If I go non-folder, I think...

    Hi from Fleet, Hampshire

Hi Wavy Thanks. I have ridden along Basingstoke canal, Vemead Woods and around Fleet Pond occasionally on my non-electric Specialized. I don't do a lot of off road to be honest. A looked at Cube ebikes in Pedal Heaven but my upper limit for budget is around £2k and the only available...

    Hi from Fleet, Hampshire

Argos has sold out of the E-move it seems. Another factor is, wherever I buy this bike needs to take "Cycle To Work" vouchers which Pedal Heaven in Fleet does. I don't think Argos do.

    Hi from Fleet, Hampshire

How about this one? This shop is actually in the town where I live. https://www.pedalheaven.co.uk/bikes/electric-bikes/2025-cube-reaction-hybrid-performance-500-night-black__96664

    Hi from Fleet, Hampshire

65nm of torque is going to struggle on hills? I suppose it depends on the hill. The one coming in to Guildford from the Farnham direction is quite steep.

    Hi from Fleet, Hampshire

Would this bike be a good choice? https://www.electricbikesales.co.uk/bikes/electric-bikes/raleigh-ebike-motus-tour-step-through-hub-gear-bosch-motor-red__12324 I really like the look of it although I tend to associate Raleigh with kid's bikes.

    Hi from Fleet, Hampshire

So what would be a "standard" motor and electrical system?

    Hi from Fleet, Hampshire

Well that's spooky. I was just going to return here and get a consensus if this was a good choice. Specialized Turbo Como 3.0 2023 Electric Hybrid Bike | Evans Cycles *** I posted this before I read Saneagle's reply

    Hi from Fleet, Hampshire

Thanks for the replies, guys. I weigh 103kg. My current ride is for maintaining health and getting some fresh air. I ride a 1 hour circular ride every morning (very early so it's quiet) on the roads. The terrain is reasonably flat but I was thinking an ebike might open up some of the more...

    Hi from Fleet, Hampshire

Hi New member here. Looking to buy an ebike in the next few months. I currently ride a Specialized Hybrid. I'm considering buying an ADO Air 28 or an Engwe 275 Pro Both of these seem to be suspiciously cheap compared to a Specialized EBike. I was wondering what the drawbacks are. Steve
