    The bridge of doom

I didn't even try to ride down it, just hanging onto it was bad enough. However, the more terrifying alternative would have been riding through the centre of Reading in the rush hou!

    The bridge of doom

Going up the ramp is on the "wrong" side for me, so had to bump up the steps, getting down more terrifying trying to hang on whilst judiciously applying the brakes intermittently. Still, we survived, another 8 miler and h

Error 74 code? on Haibike Trek 4 low

Got Helga (bike) back today. They got the OK from Haibike to order new battery so swapped it out and delivered it back this afternoon. Did a quick 2 miles this evening, just in case, but all seems well so hopefully that's it.

Error 74 code? on Haibike Trek 4 low

Thanks, dealer picked it up today, unfortunately it's a battery failure so waiting for Haibike to approve warranty claim for a new battery, they initially thought it was something with a loose connection, but when they ran diagnostics it advised battery replacement required, so just need to wait...

Thanks, will take it back Thursday morning, gonna be fun hefting it into the boot!! Dealer is 15 miles away so no way I could push it there!

Error 74 code? on Haibike Trek 4 low

Well after only 40 miles (and a week off on holiday) I went to ride this evening and got nowhere! Pushed bike out of the garage then turned on, immediately got flashing display Error 74. Tried to ride it but obvious the motor wasn't on as almost impossible to get up an incline (I'm not that...

    First week

Helped by the weather, have been out every day and clocked up 30 miles, longest trip being 8miles. Not bad for an oldie who hasn't ridden for over 20 years. Battery still on 60%. Mostly ride in standard mode, occasionally use max assist if I'm knackered on the way back. Now have 2 locks which...

    Hiplok problems

Thanks everyone, looks like I'll get a second lock, think the Abus is the only one longer than the 19.5 the hiplok is?

    Hiplok problems

Will just have to leave rear wheel out, or get a second lock. tBH I'm not going to leave it for hours in dodgy areas, mostly outside cafes or local cal shopping centre in broad daylight.

    Hiplok problems

It depends on how thick the post is, sometimes I can get the wheel in too, but not always. Couldn't insure it without the required standard lock, but might have to combine with a cable, which makes the very expensive lock pointless...

    Hiplok problems

Hi all, does anyone else have issues with Hiplok DX? I've had problems locking it every time. Asked a fairly fit looking and much younger cyclist to help and it took him 3 or 4 attempts to get key to turn in lock. Going to usenail varnish so I know which way round the bar locates. It locks...

    Newbie looking to rent initially

First outing today . Main problem was getting lock to fit the post, just enough room! Panniers a bit tricky but just need to bed in as my fingers not too strong. Wimped out and rode it in automatic mode as I've not ridden for years so balance, braking and steering quite enough for now. Will...

    Newbie looking to rent initially

Took ,or at least, tried to take a few out for test ride. First one I could only get one toe on the ground leaning at 15 degrees, so that was a non starter (fortunately it was the most expensive), second was better for height but only by swapping out suspension post for a non suspension saddle...

    Newbie looking to rent initially

Thank you. I have dealt with many unscrupulous motor mechanics over the years and got very good at saying "thank you, I need to check my diary and get back to you" - then get a second opinion. I even took a dealer to arbitration when they tried to refuse a warranty claim for a failed clutch in a...
