I have taken the old sensor off after removing the crank arm and put the new one on the same way then connected to controller within the bike would putting the new sensor on incorrectly cause an E10 code ?

Hi there, I have an error E10 on the display of my Lankeleisi G650 e-bike I know what the code means, this occurred while replacing a pedal sensor for pedal assist, if I have not fitted this correctly could this cause the problem I am sure I have check all connections but no joy have I missed...
