    Ebike on smart turbo trainer.

Thanks! Got it all setup today and tried RGT as it was free, all seems fine. That said, without the motor I now remember how hard hills are! @Gubbins , I noticed you’d played about with chainrings, I‘m thinking of putting a single side 4iii/ stages LH crank power meter on but it mentions here...

    Ebike on smart turbo trainer.

Sorry to raise thread again, but for anyone using an ebike with smart trainer do you know if the motor resistance greatly impacts power readings ( motor off) I have Giant road-e and managed a couple of thousand miles over summer, getting pretty fit and lost over 3 stone! I‘m going to try a...

    E-bike club Scotland

I’d like to get back into a “club” again for social rides in New Year. I was in one of the Glasgow Meetup groups before I went electric. If you’re looking for some help setting up might be worth asking at:- https://www.meetup.com/CTC-Glasgow-Rides/?_af_cid=CTC-Glasgow-Rides&_af=chapter There...

Ok. I can handle that. Thought I'd probably get away without torque arm on a 250w rear hub? I have three bikes already- an old steel roadie with downtube shifters, a mountain bike that I never use, and the CDF. CDF just seemed the best to rework- it has wide dropout, good semi-hydraulic brakes...

Can I ask why? With a hub, isn't it a case of unbolting wheel and disconnecting connector? Surely if I do that and remove battery there's only minimal weight left in controller/ display?

Yes- I meant remove wheel/ battery. This is an advantage of the hub vs mid drive- although Panda Revo is removable mid-drive (but would mess about with the nice chainset I don't want to lose) I do swap between road wheels and cross tyres on one bike just now- so the only difference with the...

Really glad this forum exists! Any recommendations for lightish motor that will fit 135mm dropout with 10 speed Tiagra/ Deore cassette without bending frame?

Started this discussion in intro's, but thought it best to move it here! Looking to convert two identical bikes- just different frame sizes. Genesis Croix de Fer 20 steel frame/ fork (12kg), drop bars with STI with mechanical cables to TRP HY/RD hydraulic discs, 700c/ 135mm rear with 10 speed...

    Hello!

d8veh, I know you built/ tested a lightweight with the Xiongda. It sounds as thought this might be enough for our needs- we really don't want lots of power, just a bit of a help sometimes. There's a couple of ytw-06 on ebay just now along with some other kit:-...

    Hello!

Seems odd to hear the steel framed CDF called light...it's around 12kg, but everything's relative! I'm around 90kg and Gillian around 57kg. We do have to get off on some club climbs- done the Cumbrae loops at the weekend and the upper loop is 3km/100m and shows as grade 1:3 overall. Probably on...

    Hello!

Just joined, considering adding electric kits to my partner and myself's Genesis Croix de Fer 20's to electric to ease some of Scotland's hills and give us more scope for our leisure rides. Currently getting lost in the pro's and cons of hub vs mid-drive, and cadence vs torque- it's great to...
