New Bosch bike throttle addition possible?

The lovely Roz, once she makes up her mind, she doesn't change it, and there is no budging her. Me too I'd have it, but I really doubt it, my mate Vaughan may be a daft sod, but he's not that daft!

New Bosch bike throttle addition possible?

Not 100% illegal. The dog's breakfast that is the current legislation has yet to be tested in the courts. The regulators have made interpretation so difficult that those responsible for enforcement cannot do their job as so much is open to different interpretations of the present...

New Bosch bike throttle addition possible?

As in the title, is it possible to add a throttle to a brand-new > £3000 Bosch e-bike? My daft mate bought his wife a new e-bike when her old one bit the dust, but it doesn't have a throttle like her old one and she hates it. Silly bugger should have asked me.

Help! Powabyke - original mk1 nogo.

After putting the bike away in the garage last night that thought did occur to me, that having to pedal first to start the motor was a possibility, I tried it today. Thank you @saneagle and @flash for the confirmation. Just tested it and it works.

Help! Powabyke - original mk1 nogo.

I was asked to look at a rather old (circa1998 I think) step-through front hub drive bike today. I pulled the rather unusual battery pack out and discovered it had about 41v at the terminals off-load. The owner who has intermittent but severe dementia said it wouldn't charge and needed a new...

UK - legality of thumb-throttles in DIY conversions

I didn't need any assist or throttles on a bike when I was under 30 and in the UK. I spent the next 33 years in Western Australia where bike helmets are compulsory-I don't like riding with them especially when it's 40deg outside, so never rode a bike there. Now back in blighty no helmet laws...

    Recommendations for bike 'phone holder

I have been using an Olixar holder for a while, yesterday I went over a bump and it fella part, sending my 'phone skidding across the road. Screen damaged. The holder was never really stable, it wobbled all over the place and was a bit ungainly to use. My handlebars are the small diameter...

UK - legality of thumb-throttles in DIY conversions

The law is plainly an ass, not just in the UK but all over Europe. If those Amazon semi-mopeds are legal, and my poxy little e-bike that has a throttle is not, it is just a ridiculous state of affairs. I really do not care about the niceties of a total dog's breakfast pieces of legislation...

Help with my first conversion kit.

My 2 bob's worth. I was new to all bikes not having been on one for over 50 years after giving up on my beloved Yammy due to constant nagging by the lovely Jane. I knew nothing of the terminology and hadn't a clue what a bottom bracket was, let alone a crank. This forum has been helpful to...

    TSDZ2 grinding noise

I had a similar noise on mine, sent the motor back to Whoosh, nothing wrong with it. In the end it turned out to be a bent rear axle, only apparent under load. The noise seemed for all the world as though it came from the motor, I would have sworn that's where it came from, but replaced the...

Case studies - how has your electric bike changed your life?

I think it's a good article, but the fact is the politicians know where their bread is buttered, and it's not the 2% of bike riders. I can't see proper infrastructure for bikes happening in my lifetime. Without proper infrastructure, the appetite for cycling is diminished, it's just too damn...

Maintenance on my TSDZ2 screw size?

I need to pull my motor apart as I inadvertently submerged most of the motor the other day while riding through the New Forest. Turned a corner of the forest trail and bam! Straight into a deep puddle. Many on here have had issues with the screws so I wanted to know exactly which screws I...

    "Get me Home" Battery

I've found a combination of daily exercises, riding the bike 2-3 times a week and copious amounts of co-codamol keep me mobile and relatively pain-free until I stand too long or sit on a hard chair for more than 10 mins. The physiotherapist showed me the correct way to do the exercises and I...

    "Get me Home" Battery

GP? what GP? Ours are missing in inaction. 8 weeks for a telephone consultation if you're lucky, 12 weeks for in person. Since the accident I've been shipped all over the country to various NHS and private clinics, MRI's two of them, one CAT scan, numerous x-rays and in the end they all said...
