    36v battery with 48v motor

It doesn't have 80Nm. That's just an arbitrary number for advertising. The actual torque depends on your gearing. You can get 1000Nm if you want - just lower the gearing. When you've ridden a load of different bikes with different motors at different currents and at different voltages, you get...

    The e-bike that does everything

Hmm! The thing about hub-motors is that they're are many different types to meet different needs. Sure, if you're average weight riding on average roads for commuting or touring, most common hub-motors would work for you, but the moment you bring in special requirements, you need the motor that...

    24V battery on Panasonic 26V

Hm, sure? Only 3pins on my bike, but if I bypass that, my question is how the bike will behave on 24V?

    24V battery on Panasonic 26V

IIRC, the Panasonic crank-motor won't run with an ordinary battery. It has to be the Panasonic one. Try german Ebay. There's usually a few large capacity ones there. Search for "Panasonic akku"

Hi, New to ebikes looking into convert

I think they call it blissful ignorance! Actually, my comment was addressed to my friend Guerney. His bike has 20" wheels, which swings things significantly in favour of a hub-motor. There are some cases where bikes or riders are more suited to crank motors, but generally not for a touring or...

Yes - the rear suspension of that Scott Genius has 3 settings that you can adjust from a lever on the handlebar : Locked (a bit pointless for me), Downhill (6 inches of travel) , Traction Control (4 inches of travel and compression damping increased). I think I will leave it in Traction...

If I were you' I'd buy a new BB. You can get them from Halfords for about £12. See what lengths they've got and get a longish one, which should have enough room for the pedal sensor on one end or the other. Actually, you can get a good idea of how much room there is by looking at the parallel...

Don’t forget the biggest problem is there is no original battery with the bike and a refurbished one is around £480.00 plus £100 0dd for a charger Phy Lion Batteries even after market with BMS in Holland for example are still over 400 quid around 10 AH so poor range Ok so BMS is an...

No the rubber thing does not come off easily but if need s be I could cut it away to expose BB The out side diameter of the BB is 22mm. Is this a further problem ? And it looks like it’s longer than it needs to be for a standard Crank the PAS sensor s I have looked at are over smaller than 22...

Good. Next time someone with a full suspension bike comes on here asking about how to convert it, you can give all the exact details on how to do it, instead of just telling them to buy your motor. That'll save me a lot of writing.

Tongsheng has made a through axle rear motor. It's now massproduced. It's not a critical issue. There are plenty with 40+T rings. I have a 36V 10AH bag battery on my full-sus bike. I could have had 48V10AH there too. I am not the only supplier of bag batteries, there are others. you can...

Some older full suspension bikes are excellent donors for conversions. If the travel is not too much, the improvement in comfort is worth it for a very slight loss of pedal efficiency, but you can forget about most modern ones because they might have any of these features, which make conversion...

No photos! I'm pretty sure that the Yose motor won't fit the Carrera. Take the back wheel off and have a look on the left side drop-out. Is it special for the Suntour torque arm? If it's a special shape, use the TBK controller on that bike with the Suntour motor and use the Yose kit on the...

    Crank

Morning I have just replaced everything like for like on original parts,i read that there has to be a 1mm-2mm gap between sensor and magnet.Just don't understand why anything in crank itself would have moved to disrupt this, thank you for reply Regards Ian

    Crank

Normally, that happens when you have the incorrect speed sensor in the motor or the wrong setting for the speed sensor in the LCD. You haven't told us what stuff you have, so I can't help beyond that other than to suggest you change the number of magnets from 1 to 6 in the speed sensor setting.

Nylon Gears in Ebike motors. Why?

I guess you're talking about crank-drive motors. Hub-motors have nylon gears too, but failure is extremely rare, except when the motor has been substantially over-powered or jammed by rust.

Wouldn't it be cheaper and easier to replace all electric bits (including motor) with generic Chinese stuff? BB shouldn't be a problem. It is the shape of the frame around BB that will make it very difficult to convert. Can you show us some pictures please?
