This is the bike, the old battery is 24v the new one is 36v and even though they're identical, the new one doesn't seem to work

I purchased a hopper shopper electric bike 5 years ago and enjoy the riding around the city with the relative ease and speed that my bike was made for until the bike stopped working. I needed a replacement battery so upgraded from a 24v to a 36v battery, thinking that would solve the problem...
