    Converting my Schwinn Hinge folder

When I see these photos: 1) https://bmsbattery.com/ebike-kit/668-36v-s06s-sine-wave-integrated-controller-for-new-bottle-case-ebike-kit.html 2) https://bmsbattery.com/ebike-kit/546-s06s-250w-torque-simulation-sine-wave-controller-ebike-kit.html These wires are too short to reach the motor...

    Converting my Schwinn Hinge folder

What about cutting, shortening and using more connectors?

    Converting my Schwinn Hinge folder

Great! My shopping list is nearing completion :-) I realized one thing I haven't addressed. What about connecting cables? For instance, I'd like to be able to take off the front wheel if I need to change a tire. I've seen setups where right outside the motor, there are connectors. Now I...

    Converting my Schwinn Hinge folder

Perfect, thanks!! Hey, I just noticed the half-throttle comes with or without a button. What's the button for? I assume this is the spoke key you are referring to: https://bmsbattery.com/bicycle-parts/511-spoke-wrench-bicycle-parts.html ? Tom

    Converting my Schwinn Hinge folder

When I was a kid, I loved my rat trap holder on my bike rack. My Schwinn Hinge came with the same setup. I decided 1) I don't want to get rid of that with a new bike rack battery and 2) I saw a 20" folder with a bike rack battery and it looked really out of balance. The Hinge's downtube is...

    Converting my Schwinn Hinge folder

D8veh, "I think the max for the Q100H is still 260 rpm"... yes, I see that's what their site says. Now I completely understand, good explanation! So on to the battery. Originally, I was thinking, just go for it, get the 36V 14.5ah Panasonic battery, but that weighs 13.2 lbs and $299 USD vs...

    Converting my Schwinn Hinge folder

d8veh, Thanks for the reply! So you are suggesting the Q100 rather than the Q100H? Regarding the 100mm, yep, actually, we had that conversation before which led me to sell my Speed Uno. This Hinge does have the 100mm, thanks! Is there a certain LCD I should be looking for? And yes on the...

    Converting my Schwinn Hinge folder

I've read and understood a fair amount on the forum, but don't understand many things. I have a Schwinn Hinge 20" wheel folder (which I am actually enjoying more than my just-sold Dahon Speed Uno, although the Uno is a better made bike). I live in the mountains, but the main areas I ride on...

Stretching Dahon Speed Uno front fork

d8veh, I've been busy finding the right bike to electrify. I bought a Schwinn Aerovane cruiser, very nice. I rode it for awhile, but decided it was way too big and heavy, and besides, I'd have to get an outside bike rack to haul. So bought a Schwinn Hinge, perfect size for me, and folds to...

Stretching Dahon Speed Uno front fork

d8veh, I didn't reply to your message as I have been thinking since about what I should do. I have had some people in the know tell me no way should I increase the width of my Speed Uno fork, some that said oh yes, it will work fine, and some are not sure. It just makes me nervous. So along...

Stretching Dahon Speed Uno front fork

Thanks d8veh. I appreciate your reply. I am looking for more assurances than "should be OK". That concerns me. Tom

Stretching Dahon Speed Uno front fork

d8veh, Thanks! So to get greedy :-) , what about using an 83mm Q85 36V instead of the 80mm Tongxin. That makes it 9mm larger vs the 6mm for the Tongxin. Same thing, the 74mm fork will spring even that far? Tom

Stretching Dahon Speed Uno front fork

I have a Dahon Speed Uno to convert. One person so far has said "Oh, no, don't spread the 74mm fork". I'm looking at inserting an 80mm Tongxin into my front fork. Is there really a danger in spreading the fork to do this? Tom
