Glasgow City Council accepts £8 million funding for Active Travel plan

You would assume this was progress, it's not, the 'lanes' they built in past few years are neglected and dangerous and quite often end in the middle of fuckin' nowhere... So, yeah, lets build some more! @rseholes https://www.glasgowlive.co.uk/news/glasgow-city-council-accepts-8-27131717

    Nasty pothole

Then they need to start fixing the potholes in the cycle lanes they've only recently built (obviously on the cheap given the nick they're now in), a lot of the lanes here are positively dangerous with potholes/bits missing...

Teen on e-bike dies after colliding with ambulance

The main distinction between an ebike and electric motorbike appears to be power and pedals or no pedals? Good luck the the BA trying to educate the media, they don't care and would never let a fact get in the way of another ebike death/fire story...

Installing a USB Socket on eBike 52V Battery

I get the idea of using an isolated buck with separate grounds however that means a small project box. more wiring and larger footprint etc. Using the USB link above with a Schottky diode between XT60 and base USB connector will essentially give same protection - I don't want to over-engineer...

Teen on e-bike dies after colliding with ambulance

That won't stop kids getting their hand on them and impossible to implement I agree with this comment We need a paradigm shift in the UK at how we look at licensing 'ebikes' of all descriptions.

Teen on e-bike dies after colliding with ambulance

I'd let them go and use old school police work and techniques to track them and the parents down...

Installing a USB Socket on eBike 52V Battery

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions! Despite a lot of searching I never came across a USB socket with the buck electronics enclosed, very nice, thank you! This one cost under £7 and looks like a candidate...

    Dual hub e-bikes

Given the losses using 2 motors wouldn't you just be better off with a more powerful rear hub to get up these hills given 2 motors wattage exceeds legal limit anyway?

Teen on e-bike dies after colliding with ambulance

Bollards can be tricky to see whereas an ambulance is possibly the most visible vehicle on the road....how could he not see it unless he was under duress so losing control?

Teen on e-bike dies after colliding with ambulance

This will cause ructions in the cops/media as it should, 3 kids dead in 2 weeks after being pursued by cops.

Teen on e-bike dies after colliding with ambulance

Youngster pursued by cops evades them and "a short time later" crashes and is killed...don't think there is really much to be said that wasn't already said in this post...

Installing a USB Socket on eBike 52V Battery

I have a few USB power banks that aren't too heavy but again it's something else to carry/lose and I want to travel light as possible. Also have a few power tool batteries however they are heavy and again something else to carry and adding significantly to weight of backpack. It seems a waste...

Installing a USB Socket on eBike 52V Battery

I have decided that for longer rides I'd like USB charging on my ebike, no socket on my battery. Battery is a 52V 17.5Ah LG 14S6P so it has plenty of juice. Whilst I am reasonably competent with electronics and soldering I don't want to mess with the battery or controller or display to take a...

    Throttle hidden switch

I agree to, on a busy busy main road during rush hour you need to try and keep up and throttle helps from stationary, it can also get you out of danger if you do need to accelerate away for any reason. I didn't want a grip throttle, I have my thumb throttle mounted in what I supposed is upside...

    Throttle hidden switch

If cops pull you over and take an interest in the bike the fact that you have the throttle is probably enough if they are inclined to impound it. I assume you're running a motor (rear hub?), that is more powerful than 250W, if so that's a dead giveaway too, I doubt they'd believe a 250W...

Two boys die in "ebike" accident: Cardiff riot broke out after 'police prevented parents seeing fatal crash victims', close relative says

Even the Chinese haven't installed cameras in homes yet....but this is truly scary in a similar vein... https://www.abc.net.au/news/2018-09-18/china-social-credit-a-model-citizen-in-a-digital-dictatorship/10200278

Two boys die in "ebike" accident: Cardiff riot broke out after 'police prevented parents seeing fatal crash victims', close relative says

As I get older I yearn for a more simple life. I no longer take phone calls if I don't recognise the number (apparently this is now a thing with younger generation, they don't like the stress), can anyone be blamed? Why waste time talking to cold callers or automated bots that waste your time...
