Finally bought a smaller folder for conversion...

Well here's some pics I took earlier on my HTC phone...they came out weird, over exposed...I will take some better ones when I get chance! Comparison with Mezzo D9 fold:

Dahon JetStream P8 Review Just got back from a quick test ride! I was a bit nervous riding it with only a front brake on wet roads and also about going too fast, being the first time I've ridden it and with the bike being 5 years old!! So I checked...and double checked..all the QR catches and...

Yes that's the one! Yeah it did look in better condition on the listing and I was curious why no-one bid it much higher as they tend to go for over £400 usually. I think maybe the photos were taken at an earlier date or perhaps all the wear and tear just didn't show up from the distance he took...

Dahon JetStream P8 arrived I've just received the Dahon JetStream P8 I won on eBay for £250.. it survived the journey by Parcel Force in an imac box! First impressions... not great. The bike is VERY well used.. filthy and scratch/scuff marks in several places on the frame. Well it is 5 years...

    Winter Gloves

Ya it's always good to find a bargain and save some money, especially in these tough times!

    Winter Gloves

Nice one Dave. I have a pair of super thin running gloves I only paid a couple of quid for which are remarkably warm and being so thin are easy to press buttons etc.. I don't know what the material is, but they have the union jack on them and lines in that reflective white stuff so handy for...

Some lorry drivers are full of rubbish

I remember seeing a story in a local press about a guy who ended up going to court and getting fined over £170 for throwing an apple core from his car! He started off with a fixed penalty of £50 but refused to pay it and challenged it in court as he said the apple was biodegradable and...

Some lorry drivers are full of rubbish

I was cringing too when I saw him go alongside..lorries are the main cause of cycle deaths, another one was reported last week.. you need to stay well clear of them I think. On the subject of cycle deaths, did anyone see that terrible tragic story reported on BBC at weekend? A cyclist was...

Cheers for the adjusting tip! I actually got the manual with it and read it through but must have missed that. I wanted the I4 originally as I think hub gears makes more sense on a compact folder. They're very rare to see come up for sale though.. There's a D9 on eBay at the moment, in silver. I...

I want To Convert My E Bike

Depends how you ride the bike..if you pedal, setting up the bike for higher gearing and getting a bigger battery capacity should help increase the speed.. Assuming there's no way to alter the speed on the bikes controller...if you're riding on throttle only you're probably limited by the...

    E-Bikes, the cost case

If you're self-employed or running a business bike lease/rental makes a lot of sense as it's tax deductible, maybe not fully though if you're using the bike for personal use as well as work.

Fold 2 times smaller than the brompton!!

Yeah nothing will beat that fold. It's a pity about the weight, must be made of steel for rigidity? Shame it's not an 8.5kg bike!

It almost seems a sin to mess with the mezzo.. (that just rolls of the tongue, "don't mess with my mezzo" :D) I'm in two minds about converting it... it's such a nice ride unpowered and the gears are so good I can see myself riding this unpowered if and when my knee ever gets better.. It just...

Fold 2 times smaller than the brompton!!

I imagine that sort of bike would be ideal for like riding up and down an airport or some massive Amazon-style warehouse picking orders :D

Finally bought a smaller folder for conversion...

I got two questions for you cpg... I'm curious to know if you got the D9 or the I4.. and how much your bike weighs? When I saw the D9 advertised new it was 11kg but mine is 12.3kg! Quite a weight difference. Second question.. I have trouble with the fold down a bit, the last part where you lock...

Finally bought a smaller folder for conversion...

Mine is 18 months old but cost only £250 and looks like new almost apart from a bit of wear on the seat post and a scuff to one corner of the rack ..I think using the anodised frame/rack/handlebar on a folder was a very smart move and makes the bike a really durable. It's surprising to me...

Fold 2 times smaller than the brompton!!

Wow what a neat fold..13kg though for 12" wheels and such a tiny frame?! You'd think it would be lighter. I wonder what riding with 12" wheels is like..that must be very twitchy I imagine..only good for really short distances?
