Courts applying laws incorrectly against e-bike owners?

All these laws, regulations and different overlapping legislation can make your head spin! I'd hate to be a judge.

Courts applying laws incorrectly against e-bike owners?

Thanks flecc, as it's such an important point and that info on the barristers site might be out of date or just wrong, I asked him to clarify and provide those years for the RTA refs..so I will report back if I hear anything.

Courts applying laws incorrectly against e-bike owners?

That's interesting. That contradicts what the barrister posted here: I wonder if he means it, as it reads, a legal compliant e-bike...or whether he means an e-bike that's not road legal? This seems to be a really important point eh. If the police can't ask you to go with them if your bike is...

Now this might be worth keeping an eye on....

Someone really should report this as suspicious activity or shill bidding. I mean if its as it looks, its basically fraud and cheating people out of their money eh. You guys on here are so sharp to spot that and on up on this stuff. It would have gone right over my head. You never miss a trick :)

Greener e-bike batteries / industry practices?

I guess to environmentalists and green consumers what seems like a logical thing to do is not so straightforward. You have to understand the processes (environmental cost of recycling) and chemistry involved with batteries. Sometimes its just not worth it at our present level of technology...

    Log on????

I noticed this too, a bit annoying. I think before it used to keep us logging in without ticking a box but people overlook this change as part of the last site update..when I tick the box like flecc suggested I'm ok, keeps me logged in.

Courts applying laws incorrectly against e-bike owners?

Interesting. That explains the convictions the guy got then in that article. He got drunk while in charge. So the police have same powers as they would for a motorist pretty much in terms of breath testing or requesting a sample, if you're caught with an e-bike drunk. But if you have a normal...

Courts applying laws incorrectly against e-bike owners?

Hehe, confusing case isn't it. As flecc said, assuming his bike was e-bike fully legally compliant, only with the pedals off does it become a motor vehicle. I noticed the guy who wrote that blog is a barrister and has been researching the law on e-bikes and cycles.. he seems to be saying that...

Now this might be worth keeping an eye on....

Well if that user with retractions is the highest bidder on this bike and also other listings the seller is selling there's every chance its an account controlled by the seller himself.

Courts applying laws incorrectly against e-bike owners?

I just spotted this interesting blog post earlier discussing a local news story from last year concerning an e-bike owner who was caught pushing his e-bike while drunk and then caught again riding it while drunk. First the first offence he was charged with being drunk while in charge of...

Greener e-bike batteries / industry practices?

Is the high replacement cost of batteries in part linked to lack of any recycling by manufacturers and wasteful practices? Could better designed batteries with a more standardised/modular approach become serviceable items and so more easily re-celled by manufacturers? What happens to old...

    CycleCharge .....keeping it simple.....

Alan if you have no luck with .co.uk either, the next thing to test is our IP address: 69.175.104.178. If you don't get connected to our hosts server, then I would suspect as you said, some IP blacklisting or firewall problem/internet security settings. EDIT: Sorry just to clarify, put the IP...

Thank, probably safe to assume Chrome is ok then. There was a slight glitch earlier when I was doing some updates and the site was unavailable briefly a few times due to a url redirection problem on the Web server..so I'm wondering if his browser/PC has cached it somehow..it's possible maybe...

Hi Alan, I will look into this for you and try and find out what the problem might be. It should work fine in Chrome as the site is powered by Nucleus CMS which is a matured product, well developed and tested on most Web platforms.. I will try it on my Windows laptop though to be sure. Could...
