How little do you want to pay....?

I remember when I first came to this forum the Cyclamatic caused quite a bit of interest and excitement as Sports HQ used to run these weekend promo offers and they would discount the £399 (already very cheap) price by 10-15% with discount codes and they were offering 10% cashback too on...

    DNP Epoch Freewheels..and gearing question

The only prob with CST motors is they're so damn heavy! Can't they make light ones?! They seem to be more than twice the weight of Q100's. Not ideal for 16-20" folding bike builds, but ok on road bikes I guess. Also why are they so much more expensive?

    Camera broke. :(

The LiFePO4 battery died in my MD80 after 3 years..just weeks after I bought a new class 10 card for it and found it useful for filming bike rides after all! I've just taken it apart and i'm going to try and make an external battery pack for it, so it will film for much longer if it works.

    DNP Epoch Freewheels..and gearing question

That's the very one I've ordered Scimitar so I'll let you know if it's any good (if it even arrives!) unless you want to go ahead and risk it too ;-) There's only TWO stockists that I know of in US that have them for shipping to UK (one sells on eBay.com) and shipping is about $15 so I figured...

Yeah indeed, I think the point was he was trying to do on an ultra-low budget build, he got the bike from a skip!

    best folder

I think the Sunlova 20" folders (re-branded eco-something) were nice folders and great value at £599 but you don't seem them much anymore on eBay.. there used to be a Chinese guy living in Brum selling them with a distribution deal with 8-Fun but I'm not sure what happened..he seems to have...

    DNP Epoch Freewheels..and gearing question

That's an interesting thought Scimitar I guess if you don't plan to ride unpowered you only really need a very high gear (11T) for assistance and maybe something in the middle for mid-way assistance power level, and then a very low comfortable gear for unpowered emergencies.. maybe 24T or 26T...

    DNP Epoch Freewheels..and gearing question

Why are chainrings so expensive! Freewheels look more complicated to make yet are much cheaper!

    DNP Epoch Freewheels..and gearing question

Was that expensive flecc? I've been looking at the cost of chain rings and I'm shocked how expensive they are, CHEAP ones are like £50 and some go to insane prices like £300!

    DNP Epoch Freewheels..and gearing question

I'll see how I get on this with DNP I'm hoping its new stock rather than old which seemed to have some QC issues according to some users (noisy transition, 5th or 6th gear not working) and premature wearing of teeth.. I noticed some discussions on Endless Sphere with one of DNPs Canadian sales...

    DNP Epoch Freewheels..and gearing question

Check this out...£291 bid for a Shimano 11T freewheel which would have cost what, £30-£50 a few years back before they stopped making them? Crazy! That's how rare they're becoming I guess. Shimano 7 Speed 11 28 Hyperglide Freewheel "Mega 7" | eBay I just bought a DNP Epoch 11T-28T and ended up...

    DNP Epoch Freewheels..and gearing question

Curiously, this company seems to be the ONLY manufacturer of 11T-28T freewheels in the world but I'm seen some people on endless sphere saying they're rubbish quality. I was wondering if anyone has heard of the company or has anything good/bad to say about them? The freewheels are made in...

Dahon JetStream self-assemble going cheap on eBay

Those JetStreams hold their value don't they! Always seem to go for £400+ second hand about 50% or more of retail. Those are much better condition than mine, but saying that I only paid £250 + £15 for delivery.

Ebikes versus normal bikes for commuting

Welcome! I don't commute as such, but I do use my bike for a 5-6 mile daily round-trip to the sorting office and for me, even when I was fairly fit, it's a huge difference and benefit in time saving. I don't think you would have any problem at all with your distance, even with a low spec small...

Can Lithium batteries be sent by post?

Well if you don't tell them what it is they won't know! It depends whether you need insurance cover I guess, then you'd have to declare what it is and provide proof of purchase if you need to make a claim, and if they don't carry batteries that could invalidate the insurance. What I would...

Battery built into rear wheel - 26" Agiler folder on ebay

Wow what an unusual design. I wonder how that handles with all the weight on the back wheel, would the spokes hold up ok? It might balance out well with the motor at the front eh. The bike doesn't look bad either. I think that's a really good price. It's certainly giving a very competitive...
