I'm having this intermittent loss of power problem on my eMezzo (Q100 motor and KU63 controller)... The power does not always start from a standing start unless I repeatedly flick the throttle several times and/or start pedalling then engage the throttle (I have no PAS fitted, only throttle)...

Another problem I noticed a kind of "drag/pulling" both yesterday and today when going full throttle.. I don't know what is causing this, any ideas? It feels as though the bike does little stalls, as though the power is not smooth and consistent. I wondered if it might be the brake heads...

Here you can see the broken gear shift, it broke from using brute force to get it on/off: I tried glueing it with superglue but it wasn't very strong. Maybe some other metal glue would fix it.

Pictures of the eMezzo I took the bike out again this morning for an early ride (power still holding out well) and took some photos.. All in all, I'm pleased with how this build is going.. the bike is powerful but functional, and easy to ride without power with its excellent smooth...

Indeed he is! His tehnicial knowledge of batteries is mighty impressive...I think he should start a business recycling/repairing them (he'd make a fortune), but he's not interested! Well, we'll have to give him a position as technical advisor and consultant at CycleCharge if wants ;-)

OK I may be a bit dense here, but I can't figure out what I'm doing here! I tried to measure the voltage from the bottom of the connector pads (the big connector which has 11 pins) but I wasn't sure where to put the other probe.. do you measure in series the pads, ie across pin 1+2, pin 3+4 etc...

Yes it was working fine, no change in power or pull at all.. but I hadn't used the bike for about 3-4 months, and during that time I just top-up charged the battery once or twice, as it didn't need charging very long. UPDATE: I've just fixed the meter and removed the tape off the battery...

Thanks Dave, I found an old multimeter but the 9v battery is dead! One screw on the back is corroded but I will try and drill it out and put a battery in, else I will order a new meter and do as you suggest, checking the voltage on the cells. Assuming one of the cells is dead, what happens...
