I suspect you're right on both points there. Since it happened I've been removing the battery from my Oxygen MTB locked in the same area (but with a Kryptonite D-Lock). Jeff is offering a reward of £100 to anyone who can provide information leading to the recovery of the bike. Thanks. Phil.

I checked last night and found the stamp you mentioned. It is 30.4mm as you stated, so I could have saved myself some hassle by checking properly first..never mind. I'll probably get the 27.2mm version of the NCX post at some point and shim it as discussed elsewhere by James.

Also happy to report all good from my experience of the Oxygen so far. My Suntour NCX post turned up finally from Bike24 and it's very slightly too big for the seat tube...Doh..! I'll send it back and try my old Post Moderne Cushy for now, as that should fit ok. Should have gone for the 27.2mm...

+1 for the thule 916. We've had ours nearly 2 years now for my wife's Juicy Classic and my Giant conversion and both mount and secure very easily and are rock solid on the move. Its such an easy carrier to use, if a bit heavy to carry, but weight = quality in this case. Its expensive but imo...
