    Q-Factor Bosch

I take it you bought the Steps cranks to reduce the Q factor on the GSM I know the one I had was very wide. Do you know what the Q factor is with the Steps cranks. My BBS02 with standard cranks is 179 mm. I see you are looking for short cranks. Spa Cycles at Harrogate may be worth checking out...

    Most Trusted Suppliers - BBS02

As long you don't get over ambitious with the offroading it should be OK the motor is not as much of a problem as the bike. I had the BBS02 in a Norco Charger and the frame triangle was too small to take the HL battery so I made a rubber suspension out of a Fiat Punto exhaust rubber, split down...

    Most Trusted Suppliers - BBS02

I have a BBS02 500w with 42 tooth Bling Ring. With the power backed off to 20 amps, for the sake of longevity. I live in Nelson so similar riding conditions to Bingley. At the moment the motor is in a Giant Revolt cyclocross/ all road bike, with 35mm Schwalbe CX Comp. tyres, flat bars & bar...

    Do new batteries deteriorate?

The reason I ask is that I have seen a Bosch performance line bike 2016 model that looks interesting, but as it was built possibly 18 months to 2 years ago & has been in a box without ever been recharged, is the battery likely to have lost its ability to take or hold a charge? Steve.

    Bosch performance line v Cx

How much difference is there in terms of performance between these two motors? I have seen a brand new AVE 2016 bike which is very well equipped for the price. I imagine it must be at least 18 months old. Will the battery have come to harm through lack of use? Steve

    Panda kits. Users opinions.

Thanks for the replies. If it doesn't like hills it won't be happy round here. Any feedback on the 500w motor, climbing ability, weight & range etc.

    Woosh & Oxydrive comparison.

Thanks for the replies. The 08 kit may not have the required grunt. I am around 100kg & live in Pendle, (Even the flat bits are steep) I don't mind putting in some effort on the hills. A BPM would probably serve the purpose but is very heavy. Also I don't fancy the screw on freewheel. The Q128c...

    Woosh & Oxydrive comparison.

Looking for a rear hub drive cst kit. The Woosh is attractive because I already have a bbs02 kit with HL battery so if I wanted to go for a longish ride I could take a spare battery to extend range. The kit is also £300 less than the Oxydrive. What are the differences between the two motors...

    Bafang C961 display problem.

I have a Bafang bbs02 36v 500watt motor with c961 display. The manual states that it can show speed, average speed & max speed, but I can't find anything relating to how to do this. All it shows is current speed. Am I missing something or does this only apply to some models? Steve

    Eight speed XT rear mech.

I have an old ( circa 2005 ) long cage rear mech. The only markings I can see on it is "Integrated 8 SIS" I am running an 11-30 cassette, it is OK with this. Does anybody know if it would be OK with an 11-34 ? Steve.

Fitted BBS01B to my Carrera Crossfire

I looked at putting the cable inside the downtube. The cable may fit in a 12mm hole, but the connecter & the part where the cable separates are too long go in square to the hole, so need a bigger hole to be inserted at an angle. Also remember that you have to fiddle the connecter out again which...

In fairness to Gumtree I had an email from them this morning, warning me that the ad had been reported as suspicious activity. Steve

    Scam on Gumtree.

A Haibike Sduro hard 7 has been advertised on Gumtree for a few days now. Hardly ridden, works perfect etc. £870.00 Ad shows a contact in Ingol near Preston. Sounded too good to be true, but it's only half an hour away so I sent an email, heard nothing, sent another email a couple of days...

Recommendation for a precision/jewelers screwdriver set

I bought a set from Screwfix. (Forge Steel precision screwdriver set 32 pieces) £14.99. I had several sets of el cheapo ones, but I had an action cam with a leaking waterproof case. It was leaking through the joint between the lens cover & the main body. None of the cheap screwdrivers would...

    Bike workshop stand

I have a Minoura stand which is reasonably solid. I usually grip the bike by the seat post his makes the bike front heavy. So recently I dug out a DIY folding work platform from the shed, it's about a metre long & 500mm high. They can be bought from any DIY store. At one end I have fixed half of...

    Cheap cadence computer.

I bought a Cat Eye Strada wired computer with cadence read out, to help me keep my BBS motor in the power band. When I ordered the Strada I didn't realise how small the screen is, the speed reading on the top line is just about OK for my eyesight, but the bottom line is small. I found myself...

    Battery in pannier.

Thanks Dave. The battery isn't loose in the pannier. I have bolted the battery carrier to an offcut of click together flooring, shaped & sanded to fit down the front half of pannier this in turn is bolted through the back of the pannier to four 10mm rubber lined P clips, mounted on the top &...

    Battery in pannier.

Due to lack of space in the triangle of a Norco Charger frame, which is fitted with a BBS02, I have fitted my HL battery inside a pannier. Will it be OK to carry waterproofs etc. in the same pannier, or might the battery overheat ?. Steve
