As far as I can see, if that hat takes in air at the front and expels it at the back like a jet engine, you cannot legally wear it when riding an ebike because you will then have two electric motors and exceed the 250watt limit.
Has anybody in NI obtained a proper legal opinion?
The Police etc. can only advise as to what they think that the law is.
What was the government situation when the electrically assisted pedal cycle regulations 1983 were made?
Did the NI government if it existed then, enact parallel regulations...
I think that the politics behind this is that the National Government are mightily p..........off with the NI government politicians.
The SoS had to intervene directly when the finances threatened to come to a halt, but politically, the Westminster governments best option is to let NI stew in...

I find it tedious to have to do a google search WAUT

Never had a problem.
Mass production of chains means that they are cheap.
Belt drives need frames that open=extra cost.
Shafts will...
Horses for courses I guess.
I have a Marine VHF hand set. It came with rechargeable NiMh.
Over the years this battery degraded and I discovered that I could replace it with 6 AA cells.
These 6 AA cells will last non stop over a weekend, and more importantly I can carry 6 spares in my pocket...
