    Ebikes upset Dogs

I don`t know about other people`s machines , but my front hub drive Batribike Quartz seems to scare dogs . The whining must unsettle them . Twice in the past week they have given me the evil eye . The last was a Bulldog , it wasn`t Harry Rednapp`s as I live in Wales . The advantages I suppose...

    Eye & Bungy strap

Sorry to hear about that Steve , I hope you get some good news in a week . I had a nasty experience years ago when putting new shoes on the brakeplate of my Ariel Leader . I was stretching the spring with a long nosed pliers , it slipped and the pliers made contact with my eyebrow .

Lead Acid Batteries , Brands and prices .

Yuasa are a good make Neptune .They come as original equipment on lots of Motorcycles and Scooters . A year ago I made a point of going for a YUASA Battery for my Aprilia Leonardo 250 Scooter . The cheaper pattern ones don`t last as long .

    Battery Performance in the Cold

Did 24 miles on the Batribike Quartz today with the temperature reading 3C . On the same route when new 18 months ago, I managed 33 miles and last Autumn 27 miles . My machine is kept in a cold shed and was recharged fully about 2 weeks ago and hadn`t been ridden until today . During this time...

Help finding an electric (preferably folding) bike for a big bloke.

My Quartz SE is 24V 8Ah , I saved £100 as opposed to the 10Ah battery and was obviously a run out model . When I bought mine the 10Ah battery standard model was out of stock . Mine is quoted as 120 Kg Max. Load . A month later the new model came out with the motor in the rear wheel , the battery...

Help finding an electric (preferably folding) bike for a big bloke.

That Folder 12xu is my Batribike Folder by another name . That is the same as my Quartz SE model , motor in the front wheel and battery on the seat tube . The slight difference is the small bracing tube at the bottom of the headstock . That`s good value, mine was £650 18 months ago .

    I am trusting you guys.....

Use one of these to clean the terminals on your vehicle battery . Steel bristles might cause a spark, ignite any hydrogen gas and you might end up this side of the Bristol Channel without your passport .

    I am trusting you guys.....

This is what you need to do to that chain Lynda . Get a brass bristled battery brush and rub the rusty links , wipe the chain and after visiting the Yeovil 99p Store to get an aerosol of chain lube , turn the crank as you spray the chain . Put newspaper under the bike to protect the carpet , if...

Keeping the wind off your feet

Went for a walk this afternoon and in a small Ironmonger`s shop was a lovely pink sledge called the DELTA at £12.99 . Could have made some lovely shapely aerodynamic legshields from it . Saw another in Halfords , predictably more expensive at £14.99 in red . Not such good quality, but once again...

Keeping the wind off your feet

Another thought Kitchenman .I notice that those plastic kids` snow sledges are reappearing in the shops for some reason . They are fairly light so saw them into three pieces down the longest dimension and each outer piece will be either a LH or RH legshield . Where the saw marks might be untidy...

The Times launches a campaign to improve the safety of cycling

If London can`t get it right with all their Cycle friendly policies and cycle networks , what hope is there for the rest of the Country . My town in S.Wales has start boxes at lights only and has just spent £30,000 on a dozen fancy plastic pavement bollards shaped like the pieces of a jigsaw...

Sorry to hear of your accident Pinbin and glad you are still in the land of the living .
