How much current can i run at?

As wheeliepete suggests, shunt modding may be a cost effective way of increasing the amp delivery. The controller you show looks similar to the Cyclamatic controllers from years ago. I shunt modded my Cyclamatic and it certainly gave it some more oomph. If you do decide to add solder to the...

    Intermittent PAS problem on BBS01B

Yes, I mean the proper tool would be the ideal thing to use, but it's expensive and I've found a cheap pair of needle nose pliers do the same job.

    Add more power

Whilst we've slightly gone off topic and are discussing battery safety, I thought I'd mention some of the safest battery packs available at the moment. There's also a recently started thread on battery fires here: https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/e-bike-fires.42720/#post-641215 Most...

    Add more power

Samsung do make great cells, but that particular cell wasn't suited for my needs. The Samsung 25R cell would have been better. I hadn't researched enough at the time and paid the price for purchasing the wrong battery pack.

    Add more power

Although better than controllers of old, the latest BBS controllers are still capable of undershooting or overshooting their set values. Setting a 15A limit could still draw 16 or more amps from the battery in certain conditions, same as it may fall short and only produce 14 amps in certain...

    Add more power

Bit late to the party, but I hope I can provide some useful information. Forum peeps have probably heard me mention this before, but I believe it's quite an important programming change, to give the BBS series a bit more oomph. This only applies to PAS! So if you feel it's lacking somewhat in...

    Unavoidable Bicycle Badger Collision

It's squirrels around here. They have the habit of darting out in front of me on the bike paths, then stupidly pausing and going back the same way they came.

Can damaged BBSXX programming cables kill controllers?

That went well above my head, but never had a problem programming my BBS02 either

Can damaged BBSXX programming cables kill controllers?

I must admit, original connectors are quite tough to pull apart. I suppose it's inherent in the design to ensure a waterproof connection. I grip the two connectors firmly and use a gentle wiggle motion whilst pulling, to disconnect mine. I never pull apart by the cables, as the cable relief was...

Can damaged BBSXX programming cables kill controllers?

Wow, is that your actual connector, or a generic photo off Google?

Can damaged BBSXX programming cables kill controllers?

The connector on the harness side does carry battery voltage (orange and brown wires on a Higo connector, not sure of julet connector colours). This in theory could blow a controller, if the wires were to short out anywhere along its length up to the USB adapter. You've not made it totally...

Anyone use AliExpress regularly, what's your thoughts please?

Hopefully never have to go this route, but is the refund process pain free?

Anyone use AliExpress regularly, what's your thoughts please?

Ok, so received my order today. That's the 21st Oct - 3rd Nov, from purchase to my door. Not bad in my opinion. The delivery was through 4PX, which I believe is AliExpress' delivery group? Ordering was a doddle, as was payment via PayPal. The app gave me fairly good tracking, letting me know...

Anyone use AliExpress regularly, what's your thoughts please?

Thanks for the replies peeps. I've gone ahead and bought a few low cost items and it allowed me to pay via PayPal. Items are being sent by AliExpress Standard Shipping. Will post back with my experiences, in case anyone else is thinking of buying from them.

So in theory, anything under £135, should just go straight through customs?

Anyone use AliExpress regularly, what's your thoughts please?

I want to purchase a few items on AliExpress, but would like to get some feedback on this website first, before I buy. Can anyone give their experiences on AliExpress purchases please. Also, what's the AliExpress Standard Shipping like for reliability and speed on fairly small packages?

    Bafang BBS02

9 levels isn't necessary on a BBS02. I got mine on 5 levels and programmed to my liking.
