Wisper We've bundled eBike security and I think we are the first!

Haha, you know maybe I read this early in the morning and didn't pick up that you were in agreement about the ridiculousness of it. I have cancelled the policy but kept the backpedal recovery, more out of curiousity and the fact that I already paid for the tracker anyway. If I ever need to use...

Wisper We've bundled eBike security and I think we are the first!

It also doesn't make any sense given that the insurance doesn't cover stolen parts, only theft of the whole bike. But I'm not confident an insurance company wouldn't use the fact I hadn't secured the front QR to get out of paying for the full bike if it was stolen while the QR was not also...

Wisper We've bundled eBike security and I think we are the first!

You mean taking off the front wheel and securing to the back? That's not easy or practical for short stops, especially if you have any kind of physical impairment which is the reason I got an ebike.

Wisper We've bundled eBike security and I think we are the first!

Well, as I was sharing in the other post, it was actually impossible/difficult to even find a way my bike could be locked to their standard so it's possible they could question how I managed it. I don't intend on lying in a theft situation but even if I planned on it, I only have photos of my...

Wisper We've bundled eBike security and I think we are the first!

Well this is true and something I liked about it, however the limitations on the insurance policy part of the deal means I was more concerned about whether I'd be covered if backpedal were unable to get the bike back, or if parts were damaged in the process and I hadn't done everything to their...

Wisper Having a few practical issues with my new ebike - locking and quick release

I was within my 14 days of the insurance starting so that's how I cancelled but this is good to know for future, thanks!

Wisper Having a few practical issues with my new ebike - locking and quick release

How exciting! It really is a great bike and the torque option is so smooth. Hence why I've been so worried about it getting stolen!

Wisper Having a few practical issues with my new ebike - locking and quick release

I definitely wasn't planning on taking legal action or anything like that but just for clarity, I was sent the new updated terms after asking about how to lock my bike the day after I got it. I also wasn't aware my bike could not be locked in the way they ask until I had my bike a month after...

Wisper Having a few practical issues with my new ebike - locking and quick release

Have you got your bike yet? Do you have insurance? I think the chain around the back wheel and triangle of the frame will be what I use now that I've got better insurance, but folding it and looping through both is a good option for in town or longer stays.

Wisper Having a few practical issues with my new ebike - locking and quick release

Just to update that I tried looping the chain around the front but if you release the wheel, then the slack creates an opportunity to slide the chain over the handlebars still. I can do it extra tight but since it's not actually *through* the frame, I think it leaves too much opportunity for...

I'll be sure to come back and report here if I do have to make a claim. I saw it here too and I'm so glad I got it.

Wisper Having a few practical issues with my new ebike - locking and quick release

I changed to Laka this morning and already feel so much less stressed about losing and using my bike.

Wisper We've bundled eBike security and I think we are the first!

The locking requirements have changed recently, but it seems even before that they were much more strict and detailed than other insurers. As I didn't have the bike yet, I thought it may be possible to lock it to the requirements when I scanned over the terms, but in practice even the older...

Yeah I tried quite a few things to get it going, forced stop, reinstall etc. I can't say why it suddenly started working. I had been in my home WiFi for hours and tried to reinstall it twice with no luck. I opened it many times still frozen, and then it was suddenly working.

Wisper We've bundled eBike security and I think we are the first!

COPIED FROM PREVIOUS POST From what I have seen and understood, it is all through backpedal. I received a gps tracker package with my bike (tracker already in the frame). I had to download an app called PowUnity and put in the code on the box, and go near the bike for it to connect. The info...

I can repost it again, if that wouldn't get me in trouble. I'll copy and paste it in, maybe take a screenshot in case it disappears again haha.

Backpedal have replied and said that of the £143 paid to them by Wisper, £37.80 was for the insurance and will be refunded. The rest is for their recovery service for the rest of the year. I'm glad I can finally use my bike with peace of mind, with Laka's cover now. But I feel a right idiot...

Wisper We've bundled eBike security and I think we are the first!

Well, it's weird that my post about the GPS app not working is still not approved. I've been posting on the other thread just fine this morning. Hopefully someone approves it soon so people know my experience. Anyway, I have more questions about this insurance policy and I'm honestly starting...

Wisper Having a few practical issues with my new ebike - locking and quick release

Just in case anyone else is considering Sundays insurance, I saw that I'm not the only one who has thought that the requirements were unreasonably strict. I didn't even get into the requirements for your own storage at home or in the car, which have also been a cause of stress to me. This post...

Wisper Having a few practical issues with my new ebike - locking and quick release

Thank you for the information Lenny, however I'm not sure what you're trying to tell me. I have two Sold Secure Gold locks already, one d lock and one chain. I'm glad that they are both as secure as they are, but if someone appears with an angle grinder, I'd like to know my insurance cover isn't...
