Looks from the photo that the outer two terminals are connected to the battery. It should be full battery voltage between the two outer terminals. If it isn’t then the fault is with the battery. Measure directly on the bottom of the battery.

If you take the side plate off just below the battery you can easily see which two are used. If you aren’t getting 40ish volts on these pins with the battery turned on then the issue is likely within the battery. There are various connections in this chamber that are probably worth checking...

Mine reads full voltage at the bottom (between two of the pins). There are 4 pins but only two are used. Cant remember which two though.

Are you getting battery voltage at the bottom of the battery where it connects to the bike?

I have a four year old volt pulse. I have never seen a red light on the battery so am wondering if that signifies anything.

My Abus rim lock works differently. It can’t be locked unless you insert the key and turn it slightly. You can’t remove the key until it is fully locked. Therefore nobody could lock the bike without the key which seems a more logical set up to me !

The saddle will be further back but you may be able to compensate to a degree by clamping further back on the saddle rails.

+1 for the Suntour NCX. Just be aware that it adds about 4in to the minimum saddle height. This may of may not be an issue.

You normally have to specify on the policy that it is an ebike or at least check with the insurer when taking up the policy. I always get it in writing from them so they can’t squirm out of it if needed later.

Well, I stripped down the motor and found than the left side motor bearing was seized solid. Both bearings now replaced as I bought replacements a while ago but never got round to fitting them. The clutch seems to work as it should. Reassembled and just done a 20 mile test ride and the problem...

Hello, after some advise please. I have a 250 watt hub motor. A problem has been developing where sometimes the motor is running but not transferring power to the wheel. Is this likely to be the clutch mechanism? Is it possible to fix this? Here’s a video showing what I mean if this helps...

That explains it then. The connectors still appear to fit together ok but are clearly wired up differently. Looks like time to get the soldering iron out
