Anyone ever towed a trailer with either NuVinci or Rolfoff hub

Probably a daft idea, but I shall say it anyway. Perhaps one for d8veh. Could the trailer not have it's own motor and battery, which could some how be linked to operate in conjunction with the main bike?

    Good distance. Well done. :)

What is a trekking ring? Bosch compatible sprockets are available down to 15t and 14t.

Options for transporting ebike by car

I always lock/secure the bike and the rack to the towbar. Theft being one reason, and the second is that if the worst happened and the bike/rack fell off, at least I would be dragging it behind the car, and not having it potentially hit any vehicle that might be following.

    Are there any British manufacturers?

If you want to watch more clips of Orange bikes, look up Ali Clarkson on Youtube. :)

    Are there any British manufacturers?

And possibly Orange as well, which is something that I selfishly hope that they don't do. I like the fact that they seem to be a company of traditional values, a loyal fan/buyer base, and whilst market trends clearly dictate the need to make an eMTB, I sadly feel that it is a sell out. I...

Options for transporting ebike by car

After seeing the carnage that was left on a motorway when a boot mounted system failed and scattered bikes into the path of following vehicles, I personally wouldn't entertain the idea of one. Towbar mounted, or nothing for me.

I tried the MkIII version as well this evening, but had trouble opening it, and didn't read the instructions, which said that the maximum load weight was 18kg. My bike weighs 18.2kg, and sadly the mount sheared off and ended up on the ground.

Lovely evening for a ride. And for those that keep asking and wondering how I get my bikes to stand to attention in photos, I am going to let you into a little secret. I use this very discreet twig, that fits nicely into the pocket of a Camelbak Mule.

Brand new Haibike, two broken chains in first 35 miles, and other problems, advice needed

I so wanted to say that, but could see a couple of H bike owners getting their cable ties in a twist if I had.

Brand new Haibike, two broken chains in first 35 miles, and other problems, advice needed

When you go back, ask them why they put lube on a brand new chain? The chain is hot dipped with lubricant during the manufacturing process, and doesn't need lubricating. It does go some way to explaining why the chain in photo looks such a mess after such low mileage. At the worst, I'd have...

How did you manage to get the second chain into that state after just 20 miles?

    Bosch Engine Repairs After Warranty??

I have always carried a spare chain, whether it is riding my pedal bike, the previous hub drive bikes, or my crank drive bikes. I also carry a chain breaking tool, and spare links. If I were just riding on the road, and not at night time, then I probably wouldn't bother carrying a spare chain at...

    Roof Carrier for 29er

VW Transporter, Navara Pick up and Citroen Berlingo are good, but not as good as a Vauxhall Movano! :D Although in the Top trumps game, it could be beaten if low barrier height was called first. :D It is nice having a porta loo, diesel cooker, toaster and microwave oven in there though. :) In...

Steve, you can come and have a play at his track for £5.00 a day. :) There is plenty of low stuff to ride as well. None of it really appeals to me though, which is a shame as it only about 2 miles from my house. And if this works...

E-BIKES ARE TAKING OFF IN THE UK – AND A NEW TAX BREAK COULD ENCOURAGE EVEN MORE PEOPLE TO SADDLE UP

Given the failure of Wander to correct your figures and statements, that is how I am reading it as well. Wander, back up your claim by correcting the figures. Saying "don't need to" isn't an acceptable reply, given that the request of you doing so by Woosh, is a fair and reasonable one.

To be fair to the guy, he did say that he tries to end every ride with nothing left, so increases the power settings as the ride goes. So even though tonight's ride was only about twelve miles, his aim was still to get back with as little left as possible. I unusually used sport for most of the...
