    Waterproofing

I've destroyed 3, all by overheating due to running too much power, although the failure modes were not all the same. I'm positive that none of them would've failed with oil cooling. This of course ignores all the downsides to oil cooling, which I think outweigh the benefits for most people...

    Waterproofing

I've never said that Paul (or anyone else for that matter) should use coolant. I do maintain that additional cooling will allow a motor run at greater power levels or loads than it was originally designed for, whatever the motor.

    Waterproofing

I certainly agree that a MXUS XF08C doesn't require additional cooling at 17A. That's not to say that it wouldn't still be beneficial in specific scenarios though. If you were to fill one with oil, you probably be able to reliably run it at 30A. What's not to like (apart from the inevitable...

    Waterproofing

Additional cooling of a motor is required when you want to push the power output past what can be sustained with natural cooling only. It is nonsense to state that any given motor type does or doesn't need it. If you want to eek the maximum performance out of any motor, it'll need additional...

    Magura Throttle

As an interim solution, are you able to reprogram your controller to adjust the throttle input voltage range to match that of the faulty throttle?

    Waterproofing

The exit route almost impossible to stop is via the motor cables. Give it time and you'll find that oil wicks through the wires via capillary action. The lacquer won't stop the ferrofluid from working, but there has been anecdotal evidence to suggest that the base oil can react with some...

    Waterproofing

Don't get me wrong - oil cooling works a treat. It's just that the volume required is many orders of magnitude greater than required with ferrofluid and this creates unnecessary drag. Additionally, keeping the oil on the inside of the hub is a losing battle. Ferrofluid contains nanomagnetic...

    Waterproofing

You might want to put a hold on oil cooling and look into using ferrofluid instead. http://www.ebikes.ca/product-info/statorade.html

Combined indicators & hazards - from single flash relay

That's a fairly standard indicator/hazard circuit and looks totally fine to me.

    Very dissatisfied customer!

I have to disagree. I've spent over £15,000 on AliExpress over the past year and have had an issue with 5 transactions - maybe £500 worth of purchases. For each case opened, I have been given at least an equal level of protection as I would receive from Ebay and have not been left out of pocket...

    help with ebike controller tester?

It had never occured to me previously to try since it isn't a documented feature. Having just tried testing a couple of different PAS sensors using the throttle testing connection, I can confirm the tester does show a response.

Custom length 9 core motor cable

Apologies, I had misread your post. I'm not sure ordering a custom cable from somewhere would yield a different end result - they'd likely supply a cable that will be cut and soldered in some way. The problem with molded connectors is that they can only be fabricated as a single 'waterproofed'...

Custom length 9 core motor cable

If you're not able to source a custom cable, you could just buy a standard cable pair, cut to length and solder the two parts together into a single extension.

Selling conversion kit - tax question?

Not true. Ebay UK charge VAT on their fees, but this is collected directly by ebay at the time of invoice payment.

Selling conversion kit - tax question?

You don't have to worry. Non-business sellers are not liable for any tax on the value of a sale. The only VAT you will be liable for is the VAT charged by ebay on the final value fees (20% on top of ebay's selling fee).

    Replacement MOSFET advice, please?

It was a typo for sure. D8 meant 'brushed controller'.
