Prices of the electricity we use to charge

I didn't know that, but continuing to research the matter elsewhere is very interesting reading. I can't believe Michael Bond never thought of entering into manufacturing himself!

What's wrong with that? Nothing. Sort of. Clarkson's mother made the most of an opportunity available at the time to make her/their wealth, but it couldn't happen today. Anybody attempting this now would be met with an angry lawsuit due to blatant IP theft.

Now now. Let's not let mere facts spoil a perfectly serviceable hoax.

    Route/Journey Apps

IMO, EncroChat was brought down as a result of poor OpSec. The biggest flaw was having centralised servers located in France.

It's a common story; a blocked DPF cleared with a good old 'Itallian tune-up'. Did the stealership not advise a spirited drive when they quoted you?

    Route/Journey Apps

Is much of this even relevant anymore? I mean, who really uses the cellular network (non data) for messaging and voice calls nowadays. Most people I know use end-to-end encrypted apps such as WhatsApp for communications purposes.

It needn't be a show-stopper, as issues like this can simply be engineered out at the design stage. Physical brakes could be programmed to be periodically engaged instead of regen in order to keep the braking surfaces clean. It could even be rolled out as an over-the-air update.

Changes to selling e-bikes, conversion kits and batteries on eBay.co.uk - No more private (personal) sales.

I'm not trying to create an argument. I'm just saying that you're misrepresenting the risk as being unique to air fryers; IMO, it is not. Besides, if an air fryer is to be the death of me, I'll have more than offset the loss of life due to having spent much less time cooking!

This applies to most cooking methods. Why do you allow yourself to get swept up by every scare story and conspiracy theory going? I suspect you’ve sniffed too much electrolyte over the years and it’s affected your brain somewhat. Try avoiding all those ‘alternative’ news sources for a few weeks...

Changes to selling e-bikes, conversion kits and batteries on eBay.co.uk - No more private (personal) sales.

Get a grip! There's nothing unique about air fryers; they're just mini convection ovens with a little radiative heating due to the position of the heating element. They don't actually fry food. Nearly all cooking methods give a risk of cancer if you overheat your food. Also, are you aware of...

Changes to selling e-bikes, conversion kits and batteries on eBay.co.uk - No more private (personal) sales.

I've never gotten on with cooking in a gas oven and have always found them difficult to control with uneven temperatures. The best combination IMO is gas hobs and an electric fan oven. To tell the truth, most of my cooking is done in an air-fryer nowadays, due to the speed & efficiency of it...

The announced restriction only applies to private sellers. Those trading on a business account should be able to continue as they are.

FULL DISCLOSURE: The original message from ebay also included references to the 'baby toys' category, which I stripped out before posting on pedelecs.co.uk.

Changes to selling e-bikes, conversion kits and batteries on eBay.co.uk - No more private (personal) sales.

It applies to anybody selling on ebay.co.uk, regardless of where the seller or stock is located. The end result is 'business sellers only' from 31 October 2024.

I suspect that the above will also include 'individual components' and that restrictions will apply to the whole 'electric bike' category.

I just received the following correspondence from ebay and I'm sure you'll all be interested to read it: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We're getting in touch to let you know that we're updating our policy for selling e-bikes and their...

I keep a LiPo pack for jump-starting purposes in my petrol powered vehicle at all times. How does that affect your reasoning? What about petrol or diesel vehicles that use a Li based 12v starter battery? None of these examples make the vehicle a 'hybrid'. 'Diesel Land Rover' might've been an...

E-bikes to be banned by employers after dozens of battery fires TfL, NHS trusts and other organisations

I used to get this all the time from one of my neighbours and I eventually grew bored of attempting to educate him. Nowadays I tell him something along the lines of “Yes, very dangerous. This bike could burst into flames at any moment. As if that wasn’t bad enough, there’s also the electrocution...
