What do you do to prevent theft of your e-bikes/battery?

This Haibike has been left regularly by a commuter at a station in Surrey I use for over a year without mishap, although I would not do it myself!

    Puncture avoidance

Yes I think you should be fine. I ran some Schwalbe smart sam plus green guard I think with slime tubes using them about 50% off road and never had a puncture. Although I have not used them myself the Marathon design would appear to be very popular with many pedelec members using them...

    Kalkhoff/Panasonic charger

Having just read through this thread and recently bought an Oxygen Emate city bike for £100 for spars and repair for my 2011 Emate and having got it home found it in better condition than the bike it is to be spars and repair for I have been inspired and just popped out to the garage to connect...

Do we have a “Volt” bike representative among us?

I had a similar experience with a 400Wh Yamaha Battery when a connector pin where the charger connects to the battery sheared off. The dealer I had bought the bike from had given me really superb customer service on all other issues I had with the bike, so it was a bit of a shock when I was...

A rare piece of history - Swizzbee

Hi Nealth, you commented on an Oxygen Emate city that was you sale for £100 that I told the owner I would happily get on my return from holiday to use as spars for my 2011 Emate City. I thought you might be interested to know that I did make the effort and picked the bike up, sportingly...

eMTB owners photo and ride thread.

Set off at 7:00AM for work and wore long sleeved top under a wind proof cycling jacket, wool gloves and cycling track suit style leggings for the first time after all the heat of our departing summer. I quickly discarded the jacket after warming up. It was quite nippy with a distinctly autumnal...

    Going round in circles!

If you do not want the faff of doing the conversions yourself Darren at Brighton Bikes could be worth considering but would cost a bit more.

    Disappointed with a Pendleton e-bike

I notice e-bikeshop farnham are selling entry level Haibike sDuro Hardsevens for £1599 at the moment and I have been using a 2015 very similar bike bought from them to commute to work and back that is close to 10000 miles now and on its original battery. You can find my very long warts and all...

Eddie if it looks steep in a photograph, and it does, it has to be pretty steep. From the look of it traction or lack off combined with the steepness as well as the odd helpfully exposed root seems to combine to make it quite a hard one to crack. I cannot tell from your photograph what sort...

eMTB owners photo and ride thread.

Although I have not test ridden the bike when I took the battery clamp/locking mechanism apart a retaining screw had started to work loose and I re adjusted the clamp and tightened everything up and the battery is now held nice and securely so I am hoping this particular rattle is now history...

eMTB owners photo and ride thread.

I had my first ride to work after my main family summer holiday and 17 days since my last ride.Although the weather forecast was a bit off putting I was determined to ride my bike. In the end I was really lucky with no rain in both directions. On my way home on the road I could tell that there...

Suggestions for a set of panniers

Blimey Nealh those panniers are a good find at that price! I do use Ortleibs and have found them really tough and long lasting and also easy to take off and put back on as well as capable to overfill without issue. As well as shopping etc I use mine to carry stuff to work on my commute...

Close Pass: Cardiff drivers warned give cyclists more room

The Dutch reach method of opening a car door is to use the arm furthest from the car door you are opening forcing you to turn your body towards the car door you are opening and allowing you the opportunity to look over your shoulder to see whether a cyclist or motorcyclist is coming.

    Winter...

I was quite taken aback when I first noticed this bike tethered at one of my local stations in Surrey. Since I first noticed it the bike has been regularly left there by a commuter for about a year so far without mishap although I would not do it myself. Though you have half a chance in Surrey...

Full suspension touring bike with panniers and mud guards

If you have the money and want one I would be inclined to get the R&M Delite, looks just the ticket and one would hope it is screwed together well.

Full suspension touring bike with panniers and mud guards

I do a regular commute on a 2015 hard tail Haibike with Yamaha PU motor rear rack and panniers and am over 9,500 miles still using the original battery which is holding up very well with remarkably little if any noticeable degradation so far. My first motor was working exactly as it should...

Thoughts on converting Giant Road e+1 to 1x drivetrain

Although I run a single chain ring set up on my Yamaha PU Haibike and have found by a little experimentation the perfect gearing for my own journeys that include off road and road riding and therefore need a pretty wide spread, I can see your double chain set up as also very good for road riding...
