    Electric cars 'pose environmental threat'

Apart from the pros and cons of electric over diesel or petrol vehicles , we won`t have enough electricity generating capacity in a few years unless the Government makes some swift decisions . The much vaunted wind turbines don`t produce enough , nuclear seems a long way off and that leaves coal...

Bike clothing etc at Aldi and elsewhere

I didn`t go for the clothing but for the pretty flashing armbands and miniature red and white flashing LED`s . Just to prove it wasn`t all flashing things , I also bought the Carbon Monoxide detector for £13.99 , the same in Argos is £6 more .

    It`s here again.

Hello Neptune I have had the Suzuki Roadie since new and it`s still pristine and only done 11,000 miles . My Batribike folder has replaced quite a few of it`s trips . I bought a 1982 Suzuki X7 for my 70th birthday 3 years ago and also have my 9 year old Aprilia Leonardo Scooter . What with this...

    It`s here again.

I`ll be on a weekly blackberry run until the end of November , no not the electronic one ! Today I cheated and took my 1982 Suzuki CS50 Roadie , as it hasn`t been ridden for a few weeks .

    Plea to Manufactures

Alan carry a puck to put under the propstand and lean it away from the wind . Honda were giving them away free a few years ago , approx. 4 x 3 inches with a 0.25 inch rim , made of plastic . A large pickle jar lid would do .

    Running costs

For a regular commute Tom there would be no contest , the 50 cc Moped would win . For pleasure and stop/start riding I take my Ebike . The 50cc Mopeds are in 3 price bands , the Chinese up to £1000 , the Taiwanese to £1500 and the Japanese and Continental over £1400 . To my mind the best buy at...

    e-bike for the Missus

After my experience Jack make sure that if you buy a machine for her , choose one that you could put to use yourself , if she refuses to ride it . As a surprise 70th birthday present for my Wife I bought a Batribike Folder . It arrived on the day , was ushered in and silence .I didn`t exactly...

Anyone else had problems with a Batribike battery under 2 year old

I have done 1300 miles on my Batribike Quartz in 2 years . Assuming about 15 miles before charging , that`s about 80 charges . I have the 24V motor in the front wheel and the 8Ah battery which was the only one available at the time of purchase . I found out that a month later a new Quartz came...

    Novel new folding e-bike

Just done some googling Flecc and a generator in the bottom bracket feeds a battery that powers a rear wheel motor . Either the electronic system powers the motor according to the riders`effort in pedaling or the rider can use it like a moped with a throttle . Looks a bit advanced for our...

    Bicycle Theft Latest

M&P Motorcycles of Swansea have some Oxford chain and locks on offer which might help . Their HD is down to £24.99 from £39.99 ( Code 533706 ) and their GP down by half to £14.99 ( Code 556228 . I have no connection with them apart from being on their Email list . I don`t know what you will lock...

Where have all the Po faced Lycra Riders gone ?

I passed quite a few of these semi - professional riders today and they were all smiles . Usually they ignore me , I hasten to add that I was going in the opposite direction on my Batribike Folder . Could it be a feelgood factor from the Cycling Olympics rubbing off on them ? Otherwise it could...

    Bradley Wiggins Sparks Helmet Debate

I had hoped that by reading through to the last posting I might have learned where I could get one of those lovely red helmets as worn by Team GB . The Bee`s bum bit at the back might look a bit over the top when on my Batribike Folder though !

    State Of The Roads......Awful !!

Yes it`s patches , patches and more patches in Barry where I live . In fairness the Council try very hard but it`s a losing battle . I heard on the News tonight that money is going to get even tighter and they are predicting a 90% cut in roads funding in the future . When the Country grinds to a...

Are electric bikes just for lazy people?

I take it we won`t be donating to the ETA Trust of Weybridge then . I know they were flying a kite , but do they have to go out of their way to upset us with a headline like that ?

    Speed

Gosh Flecc your folder is fast , my Batribike cruises at 10 mph on medium assist and to keep up 15 mph I`d have to be on maximum assist and pedalling so fast everything would be hurting ! !

    15.5 mph maximum?

My Batribike Folder with 20 in. wheels claims` up to 15 mph` in the brochure . With maximum assist and pedalling like mad you would be hard pushed to maintain this speed for long . If you did you would run the risk of friction burns in unmentionable places or fall off with exhaustion . It might...

My battery lost 1/3 of its capacity

I have a 24V 8Ah battery on my Batribike Quartz Folder and on Saturday had to pedal the last 3 miles home after it failed on just under 20 miles of Medium assist riding .Admittedly the outward journey was into a stiff wind, but I would have thought that the return with a following wind would...
