Ebike Conversions and towing child trailer

I have a dog trailer, just lurking in the shed since the dog went to the great kennel in the sky at 17yrs. It's great, biggest load so far , 2 x 25k henfood sacks about 8 miles, moderate hills, no problem whatsoever. As @Surf_Wonder says, on the flat it isn't there!

Replace the gear cassette on an e-Bike?

End stop was set ok, gears were new, as was chain. Nowt stuck between. What I haven't done is check the alignment, whether the derailleur is set square on, but the 13 tooth on the original gear block is in the same position and there's no problem with it.

Replace the gear cassette on an e-Bike?

It's the 11 tooth sprocket that's jumping. Same 34 tooth large cog on both blocks.

Replace the gear cassette on an e-Bike?

Thanks for the suggestion, but no, it's a new derailleur and hanger, I've got the hang of setting up the indexing thanks to a Park Tools youtube video. Same for chain length. I will try the alignment tool, but I'll make one as in this video. Maybe the new smaller cog is more sensitive to...

Replace the gear cassette on an e-Bike?

I've been using my original Shimano 34/13 freewheel block, facies a change, so got a DNP 34/11, better top speed but, despite setting up and checking the indexing and chain tension a few times, it jumps the smallest 2 cogs. I did treat it to a new chain, though my old chain was hardly worn...

    Charging pack to 41V experiment

All very interesting. So might there be a fairly safe regime using a programmable charger to limit the cut off to whatever voles, with an ordinary battery. There was a comment that BMS only needed after 100 charges. So play safe and do BMS one in 20 or something. It would extend the life by some...

    Ebike lights for 85volt battery

I've just fitted one to a 36v battery with no issues, double connectors on the battery out leads, 3a microblade fuse. I suspect your problem will be sourcing a light , most I saw were only up to 60v.

    E-bike settings

magnet settings are used when there's a crank sensor, different ones have more or fewer magnets, some just have a single magnet and sensor on the back wheel. probably doesn't need changing. Not sure about 6, probably how quick the assist kicks in when movement sensed by magnets. Await a proper...

    Controller Light Output - Uses?

I've just fitted a feed from the battery output, replaced the female bullet connectors with twin ones, a 3amp micro blade fuse in rubber holder and used Wago connectors (available in 2, 3 and 5 wire, so can add accessories on the handlebars.) I've fitted a USB socket and a cheap and cheerful...

False crossbar for carrying e.bikes on a bike carrier

Not everyone wants to help destroy the planet with a large caravan and towing vehicle. Some of us downsize to a little 2 berth for ease and economy. I've heard of people getting 4 wheelers cos they are easier to reverse though. I just learned to reverse a short twitchy outfit.

    Are converted bikes legal?

Hmm, so I'm not allowed to do what I did as a lad, the Pony Express mount, using the throttle to set off. I'd better stop it then.

Pedalling, cadence, gears and assist levels

just tried 9 levels on a 14 mile ride, mix of hills, road and canal towpath. I tried to use the 9 to economise on power needed, with some success and without too much fiddling. Same as using the old front changer really. I'll try it for a bit longer. Just ordered a new freewheel and sprockets...

Britain's First 'Dutch-Style' Roundabout Closed 10 Days After Opening When Car Ploughed Into Beacon

Well, while I would be sad if the pro cycling stuff failed, I'd be happy to see them go. Well, when I say Happy, that really doesn't do it justice. :D
