    Another mid drive

Sorry, Perhaps I'd be best just baiting Yorkshiremen. That's not racist. It's speciesist.

We can still show them our Bow string drawing fingers though. A long, possibly apocryphal, tradition.

    48V lights - suggestions?

I split the power wire out of the battery, feed the lights direct with 36v, through an isolating switch and micro inline fuse, light switch on the handlebars. Also USB socket for phone and a 36v horn, Meep Meep! all the gubbins is contained in a small belt pouch strapped to the headset.

I want music on my bike.

Another shout for minirig. I had a bose bt speaker, it dropped onto the charging USB and broke the socket, couldn't get it fixed. Minirig was about the same price, better battery life, any problems they repair it. They've just made a new padded case for the speakers, with a net front. Not tried...

Yes. Every few winters we get a bad one, or used too. I'm waiting for the gulf stream to stop.

Envo kit turns regular bikes into snow-going ebikes!

I built an unpowered version while doing A level Woodwork, laminated the skis, made the fittings in Metalwork. Then we didn't have enough snow for years!

Daytime flashing front light: good or bad idea?

People should Google before grumbling, sorry if it takes the joy out of grumbling. "The frequency or speed of flashing light that is most likely to cause seizures varies from person to person. Generally, flashing lights most likely to trigger seizures are between the frequency of 5 to 30...

Daytime flashing front light: good or bad idea?

From British Cycling: Do I need lights during the day? Whether you should have lights on during the day is a contentious issue amongst cyclists with one camp singing their praises for increasing visibility and the other decrying that, like helmets and hi-viz clothing, they put an unfair onus of...

Daytime flashing front light: good or bad idea?

I got the free seesense lights, I use them, flashing lights draw attention, I'd rather be seen. I seriously doubt the flash rate would trigger epilepsy or get missed on the off beat by someone looking up the road. I'd say a glance of such brevity isn't long enough anyway.

    Bosch or Bafang?

I have a Bbs01, very happy with it. Can service, fix and tweak myself. My brother bought a Bosch motor bike, has to take it to an authorised dealer just to get the firmware upgrade. Plus, a kit bike has a throttle.

Building Ebike batteries for a bike shop - Questions regarding liability, insurance, etc.

It's not just public liability insurance you need, it's product liability you are after IMHO, the insurer will say how you prove competence etc.

I've read on here somewhere that with the lekkie rings you can fit a large and small ring with a long throw front derailleur and change between the two.

Isn't that how the motor is rated on the label, 250w or 350w, and what I've read on here? That's how I've seen bbs01b discussed in various threads re changing the ah setting. I have also read that peak power is over the rated power, as you say above.

I wasn't changing motors, only settings, 15ah /18ah 250w /350w. The rating label is only relevant if you are caught riding outside the grounds of your mansion by an officer of the law with the wit to check. I said the same as you, Shirley?

I had no trouble, I uploaded new settings on a per page basis, thought IMMSMR there is a function to change several pages and upload the whole lot at once. If you set the bbs01 to 18ah you are making it a 350w motor, 15ah is 250w.
