Bosch Motor shutdown, Error 503, get you home only.

Very well put. I agree totally! I have had two Chinese bikes, with no problems, and at a tiny cost compared to Bosch! As quite a few fans of Bosch know and get upset about, when a person who was not "caught out by Bosch", says anything negative and 100% true about Bosch RUBBISH!! Thanks for your...

general charging + solar panel on a converted E bike (how?)

Its a reasonable theoretical circuit, that in your shoes, I would add some fuses to prevent fires, and then go for it! And do not forget safety equipment, especially for your eyes, and a CO2 extinguisher! I and I am sure that all of Pedelec wish you well! Andy

Bosch battery charger - what's it worth?

Why not simply keep it "just in case"..... As I understand it, they can only be bought from Bosch, so are possibly "thin on the ground!" I agree that chargers, if properly cared for, seldom go wrong..... The final choice is of course yours and yours alone, but think how you would feel if a year...

    Confusion on Controller

I do believe that throttles can be 2 or 3 wire, as basically its only a variable resistance.... Remembering something I read here, ages ago, some throttles, I believe, need also a 5 volt supply as well, but wait till someone else here KNOWS and mentions it, not just me guessing!! Andy

Help me understand how derailleurs work with rear hub motor please

I trust you understand it better now, as it works well for most people, and hub motors (front or back), do not suffer from the mid motor's "Single point of failure", which is the chain, as all the propulsive energy to the back wheel, has to go through the same chain, both electric and muscle. On...

Carrera Vengeance E Spec no drive

Probably, but do not expect it to be as accurate as a better one might be at say around the 36 volts area....if you can, measure the same voltage with a known good meter and that cheap one, and note and monitor any possible differences for future reference.... IMHO, it should be within say 1...

    Confusion on Controller

It is difficult to be certain with Chinese English, But "Speed steering handle" has a certain "ring" to it in terms that might mean "Throttle", don't you think? Its a 2 wire connection, so it has a good chance (generally 2 or 3 wire IMHO)! Of course, as its something you bought, and none of us...

    Lucas sealed lead acid batteries

Very inefficient, and as already mentioned, very heavy, which means even more energy wasted just to cart them around.... My advice is not to use them on a bike.... Andy

Whats the difference Wisper 806SE, 805FE

A used bike, more than a few months old, can have many errors that cost real money to fix. The "error in chief", IMHO is a defective battery, one that does not accept a charge, or only goes 10 - 20 miles (or less!) on a full charge, and is then empty! If you guess at around 450 to 500 UK pounds...

    Smartmotion Pacer hall sensor help

Sadly, I have to agree with you completely. And it is no better here than in the UK with regard to Bosch bikes and motors......I sometimes think, even worse..... Thanks for your accurate comments. Andy

    Smartmotion Pacer hall sensor help

In one respect, the level of knowledge often demonstrated on Pedelec, I would tend to agree with you. But also, the people WITH the knowledge (less than "O" level physics IMHO), would not be writing to Pedelec asking for help either in the first place! We see the sort of request for help here...

    Smartmotion Pacer hall sensor help

Even if the cost of the e-bike tester is doubled with the extra adapter leads, that is still a very cheap and very effective test option, and one that many with little or no electronic/electric knowledge can still profit from dramatically. Knowing for example that the motor and its sensors are...

holes to fit disc rotor on 500w kit too spaced out

Can you describe the problems you are having and post some sizes of your bike's axle, where the disk should mount please? Does it not screw onto the wheel axle for example? And make us some clear photos of the various parts and include a cm ruler in the phots for size gauging. Look here:-...

    Quick Battery Charging Question

I agree. To the OP:- Send it back to the supplier under guarantee, as it could be a sign of eventual permanent battery problem - short working life etc.. Its not your job to delve inside (which will probably end the guarantee) to try and fix it, whatever the problem is. Remember:- Not your...

    Smartmotion Pacer hall sensor help

It would be good to read about that in full detail, if you have the time! regards Andy Oh but they can, assuming that its only the connector that is different (you did not mention that either way!), all you need is the ability to purchase the connectors and be reasonable at soldering, to make...
