    Brexit, for once some facts.

I knew what I voted for, exactly as I did in 1975, I voted to leave both times. The EU is a corrosive influence in the world, making the rich Europeans wealthier on the backs of African farmers and high tariffs on third world producers. The sooner it falls apart under the weight of it's own...

    Cyclotricity

Andy- Don't tell anyone but I was actuallly born in Bradford Yorks. If you want to upgrade your controller, a larger current one probably will not fit in the crank hole where the old one is. Heat dissipation is a consideration if you are going to mount a new one in a bag for instance.

    Cyclotricity

Andy- Down? Stoke-on-Trent is wayyy up North for me!!! Interested to know who they are and what other components they upgrade at the same time. My Freego Eagle's controller is a very tiny affair, it sits in the crank casing along with my buck converter for my 12v ciggie lighter power...

    Cyclotricity

Andy- It is all a balancing act and about compromises. You will never get the ideal because there are so many conflicting parameters with every e-bike-they are as individual as their riders. I was thinking about getting this with a rear hub kit 48v 500w imported by cylotricity and supplied by...

    Cyclotricity

Andy- I am pretty sure this is the controller: It is a true sine wave and the maximum wave of current is 30A +/- 1A. model number: KT48ZWSRL-GP05 Cheers, Tony.

Exactly what is the 'Rat trap' for

Bungee's can be very dangerous, in a local shopping centre in Perth a few years ago, a 16-year-old was killed by one. He and many other youngsters were employed to collect shopping trolleys, and they used bungees to couple them together. One day it slipped out of his fingers and caught him in...

    Thule Easybase and bicycle racks

After my 3-bike rack was totalled in France in September I've been searching for a new solution/replacement. Thule do an interesting towbar mounted base system to which can be added all sorts of carrying accessories. There used to be a bike rail accessory, but for some reason they no longer...

And all of a sudden...there were no lights.....

Thanks Nealh, I just popped down to Maplins to get a replacement led, but after soldering it in, no joy, pretty long shot anyway worth a go. Edit- I took another look at it after removing the large heat-sink and found diode D4 short-circuit. After hunting around in all my bit boxes I found a...

And all of a sudden...there were no lights.....

Got home from my ride the other day and forgot to charge the bike, I hadn't gone far, just along from the University to Bournemouth Pier and then along the prom. to Sandbanks and back, about 15 miles or so. When I plugged in the charger this morning, no red light (or any other colour) on the...

Which other forums do you frequent?

Audio-video/Home Theatre, BMW, Nissan, Quora (a general question and answer with lots of trolls), my local paper, Australian-UK, badcaps, Ubuntu, Linux Mint forums. Wow, I really need to get a life, when I see all these it make me think what a daft old sod I am.

Pedelec community support for DIY battery pack replacements

Craiggor- Thaks for the reply, I did a forum search on Vruzend and it returned nothing other than your post. Do you have a link you can provide?

Pedelec community support for DIY battery pack replacements

This is an excellent way of going about DIY battery building, it makes my OP suggestion obsolete. I particularly like the community feel to it all. I am thinking of building my own from scratch, the Freego Eagle just doesn't have the oomph of my earlier Whoosh Sunbear, and this could be my...

    Steering limiter

Thanks everybody for your replies and the link to the "Hebie". I'll have to wait a couple of weeks, too much stuff arriving from internet "bargains" lately --- the wife gets a bit towey with all my gadgets stuff coming through the door! Just can't help myself, I'm a sucker for new gadgets -...

    Steering limiter

Has anyone any knowledge of after-market diy steering limiters? The handlebars on my Eagle Freego has a nasty tendency to swivel when on it's stand or when I'm trying to get it on my bicycle rack.

12 volt and usb power sockets on e-bikes

Don't know if anyone is actually looking at this thread. I recently modified my Freego Eagle bought from Mike63 with a 12 volt power (cigarette lighter) socket. I used the power supply mentioned above DC-DC Step-down converter 15-52V 24V/36V to 12V Car LED display power supply to power the...

Is there a central register for stolen bikes?

Just bought a cheapie old Dawes folder bike off ebay for £36. Hopefully I'll be able to coax her indoors back onto 2 wheels again. Having 16" wheels and the old-style 3-speed Sturmey Archer gears may give her more confidence to try again. If I get her back on 2 wheels, I'll get her something...
