GT Zaskar Comp 2012 conversion help

I would check you have clearance on the chainstays as those knurled bearing holders can sometimes have the effect of increasing the size of the motor you need. Although the BB is only 70mm you may need to add the extra 10mm width of the bearings each side to get the required clearance. A photo...

    Help! Changing throttle

I've not tried it, but you could prob. rewire the one you have if you can open the throttle casing if you wish to keep the connector.

    Help! Changing throttle

8 fun is Bafang who use Higo connectors which are wired differently. You may have trouble finding a L/H 108x with a Julet plug.

Anyone in the Bournemouth area who can help fix my bike?

Contact Jimmy at eBike Batteries, he should be able to rebuild your existing battery with new cells and increase the capacity to 14Ah for around £300-£350.

Repairing stripped threads on Bafang hub motor.

You could repair the threads with helicoil inserts. I've used these cheap kits many times for different jobs, always done the trick. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Helicoil-Thread-inserts-set-Kit-M4-0-7-Set-Tool-Thread-tap-Durable-Practical/124293714234?hash=item1cf07b913a:g:qqYAAOSwAG9fMcOO

Torque v cadence - which has more efficient battery usage (my wife's battery ran out, mine did not...)?

It could be that your wife's bike uses speed control in which case it would run at full power more of the time even when being ridden in low PAS level. It would depend on the speed she was travelling at.

Help! Error 07 On DCP18 Bafang Rear hub motor

KT display will only work with a KT controller. I think your kit may have Higo connectors, not Julet, which are wired differently.

Help! How do I remove rear wheel gears

You need a freewheel tool to remove the gears, but one with a 14mm hole in the centre, most dont. The DNP one fits. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DNP-Epoch-Freewheel-7-Speed-11-28T-Nickel-Plated-ebike-electric-bike-rear-cog/153940187855?hash=item23d78cdacf:g:dLcAAOSwAtFexTPS

    Best/Most suitable Display for a Bafang BBS02?

Depends what you want/need from a display. The 961/965 are quite basic, with 5 levels of PAS. I think the rest offer 9 levels. The smarter colour DPC-18 has a usb port for phone charging if that's your thing. There is also the Egggrider which is a very minimal display with various functions...

    Controller question

I can only see a 48v 17.5Ah rack battery on that listing. The limited info on the ad suggests that it's not a very good match to your motor as it will only supply around 20 amps.

    Controller question

If you have already ordered a battery, you will have to match the controller to the spec of that. Normally you would match the battery to the controller. Do you have a link to the battery you ordered?

Anyone in the Bournemouth area who can help fix my bike?

If the bike runs fine on the flat at low power and only cuts out on hills on higher power levels, then as said, it is most likely the battery bms cutting the power. There could be several reasons for this. If you don't have one, buy a cheap DMM which will help diagnose the problem...

    quick battery question

Both the 48v 14.5Ah and 17.5Ah packs contain decent branded cells and are more than capable of powering the 500/750 watt tsdz2 drive on a 15 mile round trip. If your budget allows I would spend the extra $40 and go with the 17.5Ah.
