Wisper Brake Squeal Driving Me Crazy

I would imagine there are so many ingredients needed to create resonance, it would be pretty difficult to produce the effect - if someone wanted to. Back in the day, (so 50 years ago) I might have experienced a similar effect with the (back then) smaller brake blocks. It was the high speed...

Wisper Brake Squeal Driving Me Crazy

I prefer cable operated disc brakes because they are easier to maintain, but in the 2020's I would not understand relying on rim brakes? I vaguely remember putting a disc brake on my 1996/1997 (I think) Gary Fisher mountain bike. It came with a disc mount on the front fork, so I bought a new...

Wisper Brake Squeal Driving Me Crazy

Isn't (brake block) squeal due to resonance? Bit like wiping a wet finger around the rim of a glass? The Clarkes brake blocks are (apparently) designed for MTB/Hybrid bikes, probably targeting 29" MTB's and 700c Hybrids, both with 28" wheels. The Wisper 705 comes in 24" and 26" flavour as far...

    PAS level slider

Thank you for the link to the system/User Destructions for the system under discussion. A world of difference from my current experience. And, I expect to experience a similarly restricted range of options care of the second project, that's likely to be a rear mounted hub motor on a bicycle...

    PAS level slider

I've only experience of one display (controller interface) and that's the KM 529 LCD. I don't see any options in the limited menu available, for doing as you suggest. Seems like a great way to alter the fairly linear default progression of the PAS, if you can alter every power level with your...

    PAS level slider

I think many might suggest a throttle is the solution you might be looking for? Or this if it can be done.

    PAS level slider

You are looking for a way to mechanically set what is a "logic" value? While I know bugger all about electricity, I have some programming experience. Given their price, I would expect 'controllers' to have very simple 'logic' (conditional tests). Code might look something like this? If option...

    E-Bikes: The phenomenon, The Problem.

No one here is scared, just prudent. Someone is hysterical though..... It's Sellotape by the way. Not that I should be giving anyone spelling lessons. I can barely read and write myself.

    E-Bikes: The phenomenon, The Problem.

I'm sure it won't either, but would you guarantee the adhesive won't bleed when it gets hot? Because you can't, I opted for not testing the procedure. To once again repeat my original and not debatable remark; I'm not putting anything sticky into my laser printer. Paper, and that's it. I can...

    E-Bikes: The phenomenon, The Problem.

You are todays star! That is a great solution. Thanks for finding it. Anywhere I fastened brackets or tie-wraps for cabling to the boom, I've used helicopter tape to protect the paintwork against rubbing. I can use that to protect and retain the label. Yay!

    E-Bikes: The phenomenon, The Problem.

I really enjoy your posts, because I like to laugh. But I'm not spending £24 on some very nice/very suitable labels when I can get the job done by someone else for £6. And I probably will be owning a Bafang motor sometime in the very near future, but not that one.

    E-Bikes: The phenomenon, The Problem.

I read the "instructions" correctly the first time, but thank you (and it's a sincere thank you) for taking the trouble to explain it in even simpler terms, the process written up previously. What so far seems to eluded almost everyone in this increasingly frustrating debate, is that I simply...

    E-Bikes: The phenomenon, The Problem.

I know that. You asking me to explain the obvious was a clue. You can't see your own contradiction? Many of us are wondering how you stick one object to another, without using anything "sticky"? How do you hold the aluminium in place? Climb into the printer and hold the two together, or use...

    E-Bikes: The phenomenon, The Problem.

Eh? So you meant sticky side UP? I don't know what's wrong here, but this isn't the first time you have put your own interpretation on something I've written. Above, I was confirming something you had written "nothing sticky", but Duck tape has a sticky side. It would be useless if it didn't...

    E-Bikes: The phenomenon, The Problem.

Self adhesive, silver DIY tape (aka Duck tape) and sellotape are both sticky. I know you don't mean 'sticky' side up, but lasers printers use heat to fuse toner (IIRC), and I don't want anything sticky going into my new printer that might bleed out and make me unhappy. If I still had access to a...

    E-Bikes: The phenomenon, The Problem.

This is how it should have read: Manufacturer: Mxus, China. Max assistance: 15.5mph 250 watt motor I wasn't overly bothered by separating the the top line, but the last line as supplied, not acceptable. It looks good, but that's a lot of trouble for something I would prefer to buy...

    E-Bikes: The phenomenon, The Problem.

Arrived this afternoon. Sadly, I'm a bit disappointed. I wasn't told the text wouldn't go on 3 lines, and I wasn't sent a proof copy of the makers alteration. The maker might have an engineering background, but has no notion of layout. It will have to do for now, but it's going to get...

Yet more stuff in the media on battery fires and kits

I've just posted this on the other thread. Maybe the Met are easing off, but not in Yorkshire .... https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12392871/Autistic-girl-16-arrested-dragged-screaming-home-Leeds-12-officers-saying-female-cop-looked-like-lesbian-nana.html Pitiful waste of resources.

Try it, and let us know how you get on ..... Assuming you can of course..... ;) :D https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12392871/Autistic-girl-16-arrested-dragged-screaming-home-Leeds-12-officers-saying-female-cop-looked-like-lesbian-nana.html You couldn't make it up .....
