Help! PAS Not Working Now - Help Please!

I have just removed the crank and here are photos of the sensor and mag ring as requested. Just found some for sale on Ebay and, as the cost is minimal, have ordered one just to try. Nothing to lose in the long run!

Help! PAS Not Working Now - Help Please!

Yes. The sensor can only go one way and the gap is the same as previously installed. The magnetic disc is almost, but not quite touching the sensor. Haven't measured it in MM though. As mentioned in my post I have tried it in both directions, but nothing.

Help! PAS Not Working Now - Help Please!

They will only fit one way due to the plug and socket orientation. This is wired exactly the same from when I disconnected it previously. I can of course remove and replace the inline connectors and give that a go.

Help! PAS Not Working Now - Help Please!

I have been in the process of restoring my old electric bike and finally got around to the rewiring the electrics. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the PAS working. Other than removing the sensor from the bottom bracket when replacing the bearings I haven't done anything to it. Is there any...

Help! Workstand Spare Rubber Grips Wanted

I know this is nothing related to electric bikes but thought I'd ask the question anyway. I have just purchased a second hand work stand for in in conjunction with my old electric bike that I am currently restoring. However, one of the rubber clamp grips (don't know the proper name for these)...

    Fitting Lights To Bike ??

I have been thinking of fitting some permanent lighting to my old 36 volt bike and was just wondering how this can be achieved? There isn't any outlet wiring at the controller box so do I have to fit some standard lights, run direct wiring via a switch to the battery and try to locate some 36...

Right guys & gals I have decided to strip down my old bike, repaint and replace the wheels and possibly the motor? In the long run I think this may be my best course of action? Thanks all

Looking for a bit of advice

Thanks for the info I'd guessed that E-Life were no longer in business so may give their bikes a miss. I was just looking on the internet for some tips. I have a new(ish) battery so was wondering whether it may be a good idea to maybe get some newer wheels and maybe a better controller, and...

Looking for a bit of advice

Thanks Wicky I only replaced the battery with integral rear rack around 10 - 12 months ago so didn't wish to spend more money on quite an old bike. Hence the reason for my initial question. I could probably sell this on to someone once I get another bike.I just need to know more about E-Life...

Looking for a bit of advice

Hi Kirsten Well. The bike I currently have is a Chinese one I purchased way back in 2007. Very similar to a Whisper. I've added a rear rack with integral 36 volt battery. It works absolutely fine really but the charge doesn't last very long now. I only use it for the odd trip to the shops and...

Looking for a bit of advice

My old electric bike is now getting close to the end of its life so was thinking of getting another. I don't have a great deal to spend so have been looking at a E-Life La Grande Platinum folding bike. I notice electric bikes no longer have a separate throttle like my old bike, which is a real...

Bike not working after battery replacement...Help please !!

Yes. Self-learning wires disconnected. It seems to have settled down now, so perhaps the controller was just sorting itself out? Just guessing though !

Bike not working after battery replacement...Help please !!

Hi guys I have taken the bike out for a spin this evening, and although it appears to be working fine, there are now some awful noises coming from what I think is the controller, especially when pulling away from a standstill. Once she's up and running, no further noises. Any ideas please !!!

Bike not working after battery replacement...Help please !!

Right. I think, with all of your kind help, I have finally cracked it ?? After spending some time with the wiring and getting nowhere I thought I take another look at the pedal assist sensor, and sure enough it wasn't lining up correctly with the holes and/or magnets. Not having access to a...

Bike not working after battery replacement...Help please !!

Hi Nelth. Thanks for the further information. This is the sort of information that I am looking for which may just sort the issue? I have actually removed the controller from the bike for the moment and will re-install it without the brakes and throttle connected and go from there. The PAS...

Bike not working after battery replacement...Help please !!

Right. I have spent several hours today trying to sort the PAS wiring, but still no luck. I have tried many different combinations of wiring, colours and connections and even tried turning the rear wheel backwards, but nothing. I then thought I'd have a closer look at the PAS sensor itself and...

Bike not working after battery replacement...Help please !!

No I haven't. I have given up for today so will try again tomorrow. Am I correct in thinking that the motor should 'kick in' when turning the pedals without using the throttle? May seem like a silly question but I don't think I have ever knowingly used this feature in the past

Bike not working after battery replacement...Help please !!

I'm finally back from holiday and have been trying to sort the PAS wiring, but am getting nowhere. I have tried different variations of the 1 + 1 wiring but don't appear to be getting anything when turning the crank. Am I missing something?

Bike not working after battery replacement...Help please !!

Thanks d8veh for the information I am currently away on holiday at the moment so am unable to carry out any further work on the wiring Before I went away I connected the High Brake connections to my handlebar brake levers, as these had two coresponding wires and these seem to work absolutely...

Sorry. I must have missed that? You were referring to the Dial 3 Speed Line in the image. Correct? Will give that a go
