Bike not working after battery replacement...Help please !!

I'm sorry I cannot provide a picture of the controller as I don't have access to a camera. However, I have uploaded a picture of the same controller that/s fitted to the bike at the moment. Perhaps this will be of some help?

Bike not working after battery replacement...Help please !!

Just an update. I have today gone through all the wiring and connections and have managed to get it to work - sort of ! The only way the rear wheel will work is if I place the bike on the side stand, turn the wheel slightly rearwards and then it turns and accelerates with the throttle. No way...

Bike not working after battery replacement...Help please !!

Hi Slimjim Thanks for the information. However, after spending several hours going over the wiring again, I think I may have stumbled upon the problem? It's either a faulty hall sensor or the wiring connecting to it. I will investigate further tomorrow and report my findings.

Bike not working after battery replacement...Help please !!

Yes. I fully charged the battery as directed in the instructions before assembling and installing the rack etc.. I cannot 'test ride' because the motor doesn't operate. When operating the throttle the rear wheel starts to move slightly then just stops. That's it! The battery indicator reads...

Bike not working after battery replacement...Help please !!

Hi Yes. As mentioned in my post the battery voltage is now around 41.5 volts and all connections are fine. In fact, I've just checked them all again. The old battery voltage dropped down to around 24 volts fully charged and that's why I decided to change it. I did dismantle it and test each...

Bike not working after battery replacement...Help please !!

Right. I have owned my electric mountain bike for many years and generally it hasn't let me down. I have never been able to find out who manufactured it but can say it's very similar to a Whisper. Anyway, when I first purchased it I had to fit a battery, so adapted a 36 volt to a rear cycle...

    Brake pads - help!!!!

I have just stripped down the brakes on my electric bike and discovered the brake pads are somewhat knackered. I have never been able to find out the manufacturer of the bike but, as mentioned in some of my other posts, it is very similar to a Whisper. I also believe it is of Chinese origin...

    Wanted - brake lever switches

I have an electric mountain bike which I have owned for a number of years. Unfortunately, I do not know the make or model as it was purchased through Ebay. All I can say is that it looks very similar to Whisper models and has a 36 volt battery. Recently I had a problem, and after a little...

    Electric Bike Stopped Working........ Help!!!!

RIGHT! IT'S SORTED! Found a dry solder connection on the main fuse of the battery. This was the obvious culprit all along. If it wasn't for me stripping down the battery pack, and then noticing many sparks, it would have remained a complete and utter mystery. I have now found a problem with one...

    Electric Bike Stopped Working........ Help!!!!

Hi all. Bingo... I have dismantled the whole lot again.... Reconnected everything off the bike, except for the rear wheel/motor... and it's working! I have no idea why? Will start to reassembly later and see if it still works then? Why me? Why is everything so complicated? Will update you when...

    Electric Bike Stopped Working........ Help!!!!

Hi all. As I have mentioned in my previous posts I have connected the 3 x 12 volt lights (wired in series) across the charger terminals, but nothing. The displayer unit, connected the same, does in fact work. I wish I could get hold of a wiring diagram which would make life a little easier! I...

    Electric Bike Stopped Working........ Help!!!!

I DIDN'T REALISE THIS. We did measure the voltage and amperage across the output connections,so I bet it's knackered now? We live - and possibly learn - then?

    Electric Bike Stopped Working........ Help!!!!

I actually connected the displayer unit across the power wires from the battery. Yes did read Dreamers post - but have left that has a last resort for later today. I have just borrowed my son-in-law's multimeter again and run some basic tests. The battery charger produces between 39.5 & 41...

    Electric Bike Stopped Working........ Help!!!!

Thanks for the offer Frank. Will bear it in mind. Just to let you all know I have just connected 3 (tried, tested and working) 12 volt bulbs in series, connected them across the battery power output, and they don't illuminate. Tried the same across the battery charger, and except for a few...

    Electric Bike Stopped Working........ Help!!!!

Thanks for all your advice! I am going to have one final go with it today .... But I'm not going to hold my breath.... I am going to strip the battery down and take a look at the board. I will say I have tried connecting the charger direct to various components and nothing happens, except for...
