Battery life v Weight and Terrain

I'd love to still be up there.☺ For the most part I have been recording the ascent and descent as two separate rides. I'm only interested in the climbing.☺ I completed my last ride today, which brought the total elevation gain to 63,168ft over a distance of 179 miles.Of that, 53.8 miles and...

Battery life v Weight and Terrain

Exactly, as my climb today shows. https://www.strava.com/activities/1086419096/shareable_images/map_based?hl=en-US&v=1500217799 https://www.relive.cc/view/1086419096 And in relation to the battery, it was changed at about the 8.5 mile point of the climb. It isn't worth trying to climb/ use...

    Bosch - New eMtb mode

Still of zero interest to me. I want to be in full control of power settings and battery consumption.

News: Electric bikes considered ‘motorbikes’ on Northern Ireland’s roads, says BA

Given that you already ride an illegal bike, you have nothing to moan about.

Another couple of rides. The first a climb to the top of the Männlichen yesterday evening. I came close to turning back, as cloud came down, and I couldn't see the edge of mountain. 9.6 miles with an elevation gain of 5,275ft...

    Disappointed in Scott

Just out of interest, are the mudguard on your Scott, the coloured one piece one's that have the mounting stays/ bracket moulded onto the main section section of the guard? I'm only asking as I think a friend had a spare white set, to go with his Sub 8 pedal bike.

I seem to be having a few issues posting photos at the moment, but here is a taster of the Swiss trip.

Most powerful eBike for long uphill journeys?

Despite what you might think, this really was a chilled, and relaxed 5 mile (ish) climb. Road work is definitely easier than off road. The ride down was mostly off road, and superb. https://www.strava.com/activities/1073456759/shareable_images/map_based?hl=en-US&v=1499534790

Most powerful eBike for long uphill journeys?

He was riding a Cube, so I couldn't face taking a proper look at the bike to see. :D He was running a SRAM Eagle set up, but I'll ask him when I email him later. The only original part on the bike was the frame and motor. Every other component had been upgraded.

Hi Paul, the Strava link is one page back. The ride today was in the shadow of the Eiger.

    Not at that price.

Most powerful eBike for long uphill journeys?

I will have to ask. I know that you also need a special 'smaller' locking ring as well. They also all run tubeless, with a secondary system within that requires you to inflate an inner and outer air chamber. With the sharpness of the rocks and low tyre pressures, pinch flats apparently never...

Most powerful eBike for long uphill journeys?

I'll change them later for you.☺ I did learn today that my bike set up isn't on par with the Swiss guys. Firstly plus size tyres with next to no pressure, offer superb grip and traction, then the gearing that they use is very much better, and perfect for proper climbing. On the Bosch CX motor...

Most powerful eBike for long uphill journeys?

The second of two rides today. Total distance of second ride 27.7 miles. Total elevation gain over the length of the ride. 8,704ft. Not exactly a stroll in the park this one. https://www.strava.com/activities/1073456759/shareable_images/map_based?hl=en-US&v=1499523641

Most powerful eBike for long uphill journeys?

Stats from the climb yesterday (If it works) https://veloviewer.com/activities/1070137693 Hiking today, and probably a ride on the analogue mtb this evening. I have been told that I shall need two batteries for tomorrow's guided ride, so don't want to risk not having time to recharge the...

Most powerful eBike for long uphill journeys?

Several sections were close to being impossible, and it is a fine balance between traction and looping backwards. The bike set up and gearing are also set up fairly well for this kind of fun. I can safely say that there are a couple of pretend eMTB's out there, that I wouldn't even bother to...
