Help! Replacement 36v battery for a Giant Suede

I'm not sure because I don't fully understand what your throttle problem is. you should check the voltage on the signal wire when you twist the throttle. That'll tell you if it's working properly. Should go 1.2v to 3.8v approx.

    Cyclamatic powerplus controller fault ?

If the battery were faulty, the lights on the throttle would go down when it cuts out. If they all stay on, it's something else, like a connection fault. electronics either works or not. if it's intermittent, it's almost certainly a bad connection or damaged motor cable, though can also be a...

Need help with a voilamart controller 48v 1000w

7 gears at the back means that you can use a normal freewheel motor, which is a bit cheaper than the cassette version. You'll need to factor in the cost of a DNP 11/28 freewheel because yours will probably be too low in top gear when you have the electric motor helping you. Count the teeth on...

    Hi from Mid Wales.

Let us know how you get on. I don't know much about Leon Bikes, but i do know a bit about the brand, as the factory used to make Oxygen bikes before they broke off their association with that factory. I visited the factory about 5 or 6 years ago. the main reason i recommended them is becaus...

Help! Replacement 36v battery for a Giant Suede

The cheapest kits have the cheapest controllers. The cheapest controllers lack features that you get on the more expensive ones. Your controller simply doesn't have the feature to control speed or power with the pedal sensor. It's an on/off switch that works on the basis of pulsing from the...

Help! Replacement 36v battery for a Giant Suede

As a rough rule of thumb, you get 30 miles from a 10Ah 36v (360Wh) battery at an average speed of about 12 mph. That's the same as 45 miles from a 15Ah one or 3.75 hours before the battery goes flat. Obviously, if you go slower, it last longer.

    Faulty eCarrera Crossfire

Yes, this is quite a good place to get honest reviews. There are still a few shills and stooges, but they're pretty easy to spot if you have an IQ higher than an amoeba. Interestingly, many Chinese products have unsensored review sections on their websites. Trustpilot isn't bad for popular...

    Curious about speed limiters

Why? It wasn't his fault. That's why he was found innocent. He probably feels some guilt, like anybody would. He'd be thinking if only he hadn't paused to phone his mum before setting off, he wouldn't have been there at the time when the woman decided to make her suicidal dash into the road...

    Problem with my Bafang HD

It's not easy to replace them. most people would buy a new controller, but you shouldn't do anything until you've tested to find out what's wrong. If it's a nicked wire, it takes 2 minutes to fix and costs about 2p.

    Battery lock drilled

Are you sure that it wasn't you that nicked it and tried to drill the lock? Why would anyone want to steal an old Bosch battery? I could understand if it were a new bike.

    Giant lafree Twist

It depends what you want it for. I know a few people that found that they work quite well as a garden trellis. Others use them as a decoy bike. You put your normal bike securely locked in the shed and a Giant twist in the garage. When the stupid thieves brake in, they don't know what it is...

    Mosfets for Bafang HD

    Crystalyte hub kit on tandem

That's a good sign, but not the whole story. Some need a pull-up resistor to make them switch, which would typically be on the controller's pcb. 10K would be a typical value, but it should work with anything from 3k to 30k. Have you got a resistor anywhere that you can poke down the back of the...

    Curious about speed limiters

Most systems use wheel RPM to calculate the bike's speed. Some get that by measuring the wheel speed directly, and many hub-motors get it by measuring the motor speed. In the old days, you could trick some systems by falsely setting the wheel diameter, but many many now only use that to...
